Well, recording and playback seem to work fine for me locally. I have attached an example. I should have won this match, but I was distracted; there are some great shots in it, though. The CPU player really fights back hard when she is down.

@CC :
>> Maybe is something wrong on my system?
It's a possibility, although, if you don't have a huge amount of desync when u play online, it's unlikely...

I just tried your recorded demo, and it's not working well on my PC, though... :?
I'm not sure what's going on, maybe I forgot to init correctly a parameter (*) when launching the replaying, but I already checked twice and still didn't figure out what could be wrong... :scratch:
(*) and this parameter would be different on my PC and yours, thus the desynch.

>> as I remember, so it was never 0-2 (he served first)
for this one, u likely remember wrong, coz the score progression is saved within the replay file, so except if I found the way to stick a bug in it, the score should be always correct... ;) (at least with my version... with the current version on the website, the score is sometimes destroyed on desync... :? )

@Everybody :
I think the system needs at least 1 change... So for next build (out on Monday, I think), your online recorded matches won't work anymore.
Also, right now, on desync, the replay can get crazy & doesn't work anymore... It'll be fixed on next build... Although, now I think the replays will have big problem to survive from build to build, coz even a very little change can create big side effects in the replay... :roll:

Manutoo,

I don't think that I remembered this wrong. When I replayed the game, the score never advanced to the real 1-6 score. When the replay finished, the score was 0-2, I believe. My main point is that the score did not advance anywhere near correctly. So, what I am saying or seeing is not consistent with what you observed? When you played my first game, did the score advance to 1-6? Similarly, for you my last recording would not play well, and it plays fine for me, or as Togtdyalttai's did not play correctly for me (the score was not right, either) but was fine for you.

Manu, zipping the file isn't optional. When I tried to post it unzipped, I got something saying that dmo files weren't supported.

Manu, I didn't understand 1 thing: could I record a match in World Tour mode or only playing online?

You can record matches anywhere, even warm-up.

@CC :
The replay loses sync at 2-0 15/0 and is unable to recover after that... So I don't know the final score... :)

@Togtdyalttai :
yup, the .dmo extension wasn't in the allowed list, so I just added it... It looks like I still have many things to learn about this new forum... :P

Manutoo,

Now I say that the score certainly isn't kept right always in the replay. I played someone earlier who retired at 0-4, my favor. The replay is fine for the first two or three points. Then, it goes awry. Soon, the score advances to 1 game all, which never happened. So, I have no doubt about this and little doubt about the first replay that I posted.

CC, in the current version on the website, when there's a desync, each point is counted twice (this is corrected in my version), thus the desync in the score as well... But in ur demo, I don't have any desync till 2-0 15/0 ...

OK. Doesn't really matter, because I know you will soon have it working perfectly :) . And I am really looking forward to that, as for a long time I have wanted to be able to record matches. I hope my feedback is helpful. Congratulations on the Macintosh release. That's a big accomplishment.

I've downloaded 5 matches from other people, and it messes up after one game usually. It's like the players are playing a point but there's no ball in play, then I get some system log error.

My recorded matches work perfectly, though.

Great addition!

Here's an epic 7-6(15-13) match I had online if anyone is bored. :)

Maybe I just found the major problem..! :blackeye:

If like me, u still have the "Help" screen popping up at start of each match, it'll change the simulation/arcade mode & the auto-pos speed, thus creating big desynch if the recorded match you're watching didn't have the same value..!!
Just turn it off (the option is at bottom of the help screen), exit, & restart the match, and then it should be fine...

I was trying to watch Togtdyalttai vs S.Williamz and it was desync very quickly, and now it seems to be alright..!

Let me know if it fixes the desync problem on ur PCs as well... :mrgreen:

I've had the help screen off, doesn't change anything. :(
