Arvis wrote:Ok, the WTA Mod works when you load it in the Mods.ini, but there still seem to be issues with it:

1) It doesn't seem to want to work with the SAM Megapatch. There seems to be some interference, causing a lot of players to be from Andorra and none of the character models looks right (See below)

2) Even when I loaded up JUST the WTA Mod without the SAM Megapatch, the character models are horrible. IN fact, in Zheng Jie's case, even worse: she looks like some ancient grandmother with white hair. Now, for some reason that I can't explain for the life of me, there was one brief moment when I was first playing with the WTA Mod, I picked Zheng Jie and it worked, the name was right, the stats were good, and the character model looked JUST like her. This was when I was attempting to overwrite some files in the main game folder with some files from the mod. Of course, I was too chicken to overwrite EVERYTHING, so I only tried some of the folders. Strangely, this resulted in Zheng Jie looking great in the character select screen, but once I began the actual career she changed back to looking wrong.

I could be wrong but it sounds to me as though you're mixing Sam's Megapatch files with the WTA Mod files? You need to keep them separate from each other as you can only play one Mod at a time and not both together..

Well, they're both in the "Mods" folder, if that's what you mean. And as I mentioned, I tried changing the Mods.ini file to load ONLY the WTAMOD and the character models were still obviously wrong (even worse than the default models). But the weird thing is, they were right at one point. If someone who knows the mod could point to me to which files control the character models, I could overwrite the game's default models with the correct modded ones and see if that works (if nobody else has a better solution).

It seems like you're doing it correctly. Just to eliminate the most common solution to this sort of problem.... what year are you attempting to play in?

Well, technically, no year: i go to World Tour, choose Career, pick Zheng Jie, and then it shows her character sheet and she looks horribly wrong. Then I check other players who have a distinct look (Bouchard, because hot and Canada is close to China alphabetically) and the other players look completely wrong, too. And once I see that the character models are completely wrong, I just quit the game.

Just deleted and reinstalled the WTA Mod and the character models are still horribly wrong.

^ Does that look like Maria Sharapova to you? :P

EDIT: I also tried picking "Season" instead of "Career" to see if that would make any difference. It did not.

No i didn't mean that :P , i just got the impression that you were trying to play both Mods on the same game in 'one load' and had accidentally overwritten some files.

Arvis - Regardless of whether you choose one season or full career - you must choose the year. Be aware that only 2011-2013 are modded in this particular patch. So I think you're either choosing some year out of those mentioned (which would possibly result in an unmodded player that you describe) OR sometimes when you choose a player from the list to start a career at that first character sheet they are randomised (unmodded) but then when you actually enter a tournament they are fine. Could you try both of those please.

Well, I can safely say right now that they're not randomized, since they always look the same every time I start it up.

Also, why would the year affect the character model? Wouldn't the character model be modded and then used for that same character no matter the year? Why the difference?
Again, though, let me repeat: the character models were perfect at one point, which is what makes me think it has nothing to do with the year. I chose Zheng Jie and "Career", same as I am doing now, and her character model was absolutely perfect. Only there was a glitch AFTER that where once I began the career, it switched back to the default "Zhing Jing-Jing" model the game comes with. This occurred during my brief attempt to use select files from the mod to manually overwrite original files from the game proper.

Also, if it helps, I poked around some more and noticed that Serena and Venus look pretty much like Serena and Venus, Serena especially looks exactly right. But no other player that I looked at looked right. Sloane Stephens, for example, was white from the waist up. As far as I can tell, the .ini file containing the player information is directing the game to pull certain assets, but those assets themselves are not "tagged" or numbered correctly. For example: it's looking for "Hair 5" (or whatever, that's not the exact number) which it thinks is Zheng Jie's beautiful straight black ponytail hair, but for some reason the asset labeled "Hair 5" is actually a white topknot looking thing that no human has actually ever had in the history of humanity. Not only that, but when I attempted to manually change her appearance a) the last several hair options were all the same (freaky white topknot thing), and b) her face changed.

Could what ComeOnAndy said be true: if I loaded both mods at once could some files be overwritten? And would this persist if I deleted the mod and reinstalled it? Because I totally did try and do that, typing "Load = Sam Megapatch 2013, WTAMOD" at one point desperately trying to get it to work. Could I have destroyed something?
When I manually overwrote some of the base files, I kept all the original files in a separate folder, so I felt pretty sure that I did no permanent damage. However, it's looking more and more like I need to do a complete re-install of the entire game.

No mate, you should be OK now because you did a fresh install of the WTA Mod, so if anything had deleted, it would've been put right after you'd reinstalled it..

SO then, Andy, do you think I should reinstall the whole game and all the mods?

Run the Tennis Elbow installer again, but during installation change the install directory to something like 'Tennis Elbow Vanilla' in your Program Files directory. (obviously copy over your key.txt to the new folder too) So you've now got your original installation, and a completely clean one. Then try following the instructions to install Petey's mod again and let us know what happens!
