Male & Female .Max models released !

Hello,

here the Max models of the male & female players, in high & low poly count :

To export them to the game, you need to have 3ds Max 8 and this modified kW X-port plugin : download/file.php?id=10881 (it's the same one than for anim ; put it in "3dsMax8\Plugins" subfolder).
Then do : File -> Export -> and set "Save as type" to "kW X-port" . In the settings window, do not change any settings and just click on "ok". Done.
Note: the new model file won't be loaded in the Mac/Linux version. If someone manages to create some new stuff, I'll update the game so it can create the Mac/Linux version on game launch in the Windows version.

The files contain _all_ the models used by the game (all hairs, all kind of shirts & shorts) ; some may be frozen or hidden, so you'll have to unfreeze or unhide them if you want to see or modify them.

Important : usually, if you create a new model (hair, shirt, ...) in the high poly player model, you should also add it in the low poly player model as well (preferably with a lower poly count) ; if you don't, the game might crash.

Maybe I am blind (I have unhided everything in the scene), but female model contains just one skirt and one haircut (short ponytail).
Kw x-port is not saving it properly, the closest results i get with panda x port.
In pak there is also file with different extension - smx, we don't have to create it?
Male model is complete.

you were right, female .max files were wrong ! I'm not sure what happened (it's either a failed backup restore after I lost my HD a couple years ago or a mistake coming from change of naming convention), but anyway, I just updated the .rar with the correct .max files ; now hopefully it should be ok ! :yes:

.smx = converted files needed only for the Mac/Linux versions.

Btw - have you fixed that incompatibility you had with your 3ds max?
Maybe I can send you max file with added haircuts, and you will try to export it to .x?

Great to hear that manutoo, that will be useful for the guys are working to improve the shape of the body & try to do haircuts.

I just checked and the file exports correctly. Be sure to have the modified version of kW X-port (linked in 1st post). The settings are saved in the .max files so they can't be wrong (the result of wrong settings would be no visible mesh at all anyway).
Also, it's better to have the Service Pack 3 for 3DS Max 8 installed.
Lastly, you'll need to rig the new hair model (ie: assign it to the Head bone).
Note: yup, my 3DS Max works again.

Yes, I am rigging it to the head bone.
And which setting u have checked during export?

Btw - my avg anti-virus detected a virus in that new kwxporter u have attached in 1st post.

There are two files in that archive you have attached to the first post:
a) in main folder
b) in back-up folder
The a) file is infected and 3dsmax don't read it
The b) file is all right, but it's from 2008 while the a) file is from 2010.
Any solution?

I have problem when I start autodesk. It says that kwxporter fails to initialize...Solution please, we need those hairs in the game! Pleaseeee! :cry: :cry: :cry:

Hele was trying to export it as well - using the hair models I've sent her, and unfortunately using two settings (the default one and the ones you gave) we get the same result...
