Patty, I must warn you to use MSN more often. That is an obligation to each player on the tour because otherwise it's very difficult to contact their opponent.

well, I woke up this morning to play the match against VWilliamz. We arranged it for 2am his time, 9am mine. He didn't come. I have waited for an hour and then gave up. I'm sick of this shit.

Stuey, please disqualify somebody or both of us, cause I don't want to play against this guy anymore.

Dusan - BlackyM 6-4, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4

I underestimated Dusan and I'm happy that I lost

The most Idiotical match that I ever played...complete deserved defeat

First game first set, i had 30-0 and then my brain started to calculate, first I stayed on the baseline three times in row and ofcourse I lost 3 points, then in fourth point I went to the net but I lost there too

In the rest of the set I had one BP, but unfortunetly Dusan made an ace

Second set, I had one BP he had none, he had two times in tiebreak minibreak but somehow I won that set...

And the Third set, He started guessing sides, in 60% of times he guessed right, and everytime when I try to guess I missed, so it was like that until tiebreak, then I made minibreak, but guess what...Dusan guessed right side three times and I lost that tiebreak

Foruth set at the beginning on my serve, he guessed right 4 times in a row, and made a break, later in that set I guessed right my 4th or 5th time in whole match and I had 2 BPs, but then again my horribly return during whole match came again, and Dusan made 2 aces

And thats it...

In conclusion:
I underestimated Dusan in first set, second set I was little better, but third he was more lucky then me. in fourth set my idiotical play cost me a match

He guessed sides more than 60% of times, me maybe just maybe 2-3%, and whats even more weird everytime when I guessed side on his serve he made out or net

It was frustrating and it effect my concentration

My play in tiebreak is just worrying - 3/13
During the match I had 0/4 BP, he had 2/4
And I'm just pathetic when I have BP, against bajko I had 2/9, against jazzo last week I had 0/6

89-77 in winners for me
but amaizingly 62-22 in aces for Dusan

Congrats to Dusan

and at the end I'm not trying to get an excuse or something but Blue-Green is much faster surface then Synthetic, last 6-7 matches I played on Synthetic and maybe this transition cost me 62 aces and horribly return

Stuey - Marat Safin 6-7 7-6 7-6 6-4

Extraordinary match.

It really was a big fight, and one of the toughest matches I've ever played.

It was very difficult to make a break, you can see that in the fact the only break happened at the end of the match.
First set - very tight. Marat missed three break points, I didn't even have one. Tiebreak - Marat made a minibreak, I returned, then he got his set point, and then another one. I had only one set point - at 9-8 if I remember correctly. At the end, 12-10 for him.

Second set was quite as same as the first one. Noone had any break chances. I thought I would lose my concentration because I usually do when I lose a set in tiebreak, but this time I kept my nerves. We got into another tiebreak. This time I decided to attack his serve-volleys with lobs, and to guess sides more. It was a good choice as I made a minibreak and kept it. I won 7-4.

Third set - again the same story. Break chances were 0/2 for both of us. We found ourselves in the third tiebreak. I made a minibreak for 4-3. Then I managed to keep my own serves which was not easy as he went to the net so I had to be very accurate to make a point. At 6-3 for me and his serve, I guessed side correctly, hit the ball hard, it bounced off the net, and Marat sent the ball out of the field. 2-1 for me.

Fourth set was another shocking one. We kept our serves until it was 4-4. Then he served. I found myself with 2 break points. That was finally enough for me to make a break. I served for match and didn't let it go. 3-1, my big victory.

Congratulations to Marat on a great match, I enjoyed it. It is sometimes frustrating how difficult it is to attack serve-volleyers, but this was match with many outstanding points, it is shame noone else couldn't observe it.

UNFAIR

Postby cratenkj » 27 Oct 2007, 06:33

so why am i the only one disqualified...i feel that u cant take no one word over the other so both of us should of been disqualified to make things fair. When i was ready to play on time he wasn't...so u gave us more time.

Then u extend the play period n i IM him b4 he did me n i set up everything but no one was online at the time..but since u wanna take his word over mines than i feel that it is unfair. U have no clue man so both of us should of been disqualified or given more time...

NE ways...this really takes the fun and reality out fo the game with you making decisions over he/she say when both of us should of been disqualified...this isnt so fun anymore

Lets try better to be more fair man..no favoritism man

@cratenkj:

First of all, you didn't stick to your deal with Steve Stifler. You didn't respect your own words. That's the main reason why you are disqualified. If you say 'Let's play in that time' then you should be online in that time. Also, the one who applies for the tournament has to be online as much as he can and to use msn more often. That's something everyone who joins a tournament should know. But some of Stifler's messages to you were not answered. Why? Because you were not online as much as the participant should be.

I'm sorry if you feel this is unfair but I had no other option. This the most difficult thing in organizing online tournaments. The match was not played on time, I really tried everything and kept postponing the deadline, but at the end I had to do something. This is no favoritism, this is making a decision due to couple of facts. If you still don't know what facts, read this post again.

You never even left me a message or something, you didn't respect your deal, you were less online. I'm sorry but thats enough for me to let him go forward. Please, try to understand that. This is perhaps a good example for why people should be more online. And thats one of the main reasons which I use to make the final decision.

I really want noone to have problems with playing their matches, keep that in mind. But when it come to this point, I just have to make a decision. I could disqualify both but I had enough reasons to disqualify you and not him. No hard feelings because its not favoritism. I would be the happiest in the world if every match is played by the deadline and if everybodys happy and satisfied. Unfortunately, that is often not possible.

I wish you better luck with your matches in other tournaments.
