I also like that idea, but I hope it isn't too late to discuss this.

Yeah, that seems a good solution to me too.

remember from next year GS Winners will gain 2000 points and the R-Up 1500 so imagine if a new player reach the F of the U.S. Open he 'll already be in top 15 and i don't think it will be so cool to always for the no.1 have 3000-4000...

[censored] Tour insults us, we have to react asap :P :)

We continue to follow the ATP schedule because that is way cooler (who wants to play the US Open in May?). But in order to keep rankings fresh and allow new players to rise quicker, we have points on a 26 week cycle instead of a 52 week. For example, US Open points will go away in March, six months after the US Open. So at certain times there will be no points for anyone counted for half the tournaments.

I don't like it at all, It will be total mess at some times, playing tournaments several months before they're counted...?...So your whole Idea is based on US Open to be played in September not in may. In other words you want 6 months tour like we proposed, but you want it to be played during 11 months just because of US Open. Not exactly like that, but almost.

What about other 26 (22 weeks of tournaments)...so if we don't count tournaments why would we play in them!? Just wasting of time.

I still don't see a reason why we need to follow RL Tennis? We have barely 30 active players at one moment...we don't need 11 months season.

Ya but imagine if there are 3 new players/week = 12 new players /month = 48 new players/ 4 months so This system is very ugly, we were on good terms with the old system, why to change?

Blacky, it seems to me like you misunderstood Zuzana's idea. She proposes to use the normal schedule, but the points drop off after 26 weeks. So they count only half a year instead of a full year. o we're not playing several months before they are counted. They count right after the tournament, just not so long.

Manutoo's idea makes more sense. The rankings stay the same, but the best 5 tournaments are used for seeding.
