Davis Cup Round 1 (Set Up)

Postby Togtdyalttai » 23 Feb 2009, 03:30

The Davis Cup draw is out! Go to http://www.freewebs.com/tenniselbowtour/daviscup.htm to view it. Now here's the format: There will be 4 singles matches and 1 doubles match, with each singles match counting for 40 points for a win, if the match is live (meaning that the tie hasn't already been clinched). Each team captain will post who will play singles for their country and who will play doubles. Then the first three matches of the tie can begin. They will be on a surface decided by the team with a c by their name (Croatia, Portaly, Spain, United States, Peru, Poland, Hungary, and Scandinavia). Here are the rules for each match:

Fair mode (Simulation)
Best of 5 sets
Surface determined by host country

Captains, you have 1 week to apply your players and choose the surface. Good luck!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. I may have left some things out.

Here is an example for you guys (not our actual configuration):

Team: USA
Surface: Blue-Green Cement
1st Singles: Togtdyalttai
2nd Singles: Yugioh
Doubles: Zuzana Ondraskova

Note: The doubles player may be the same as either singles player, but the 1st singles player may not be the same as the 2nd singles player. These configurations are only for the first two singles matches, not the second two. The second two singles matches will be played, if necessary, after the first 3 matches are complete and if one team has not already won all 3 matches.

I'd like to say that the configuration above will be the actual one we use.

What if one team has 3 players and the other team only has 2?
Does everyone just play everyone else?
Also how do u play the doubles online? I've never seen anyone playing doubles online

Ok, the emails are fixed. And for teams of 3 or more, you must choose which 2 players will play singles, and which 1 will play doubles. The doubles player may be the same as one of the singles players. And Edberg, if you can find a substitute that's fine, but I hope you can get everything fixed soon.

Scotland line up for the first round (vs Portaly)-- it's up to them to pick the surface.

1st Singles R.Gasquet
2nd Singles JC Ferrero
Doubles L.Hewitt

SCOTLAND FTW!!!

I might add after getting the shaft from my team id love to be Edbergs replacement. I also might add if i don't end up playing in this goddamn thing then this tourney better not count toward my total. Also Blacky you got my total of tourneys wrong when u came out with it i have only played in qatar(even though gavbo got the w.o when he avoided me like a little pussy and wouldnt play me and as you all know now i would of beat him), zagreb, and rotterdam to that point which you put four in when i only played 3, but know I'm playing acupolco which makes it 4.

I talked with my company who will fixed my computer (Dell). They will come hopefully this week, as they said, to fix my computer. So to this weekend hopefully i can play.. If they not come this week the latest day they come to me is Monday next week. Is that to late for me?

Nope, that's perfectly fine. In the meantime, you and S.Williamz can decide the surface and who will play doubles, but Davis Cup lasts through next week.
