Sorry everybody, in the poll, I wrote "Arcanum" :
Image

but actually, I meant "Arx Fatalis" :
Image

Arcanum is a great game, but it's not what I want to do.
Like stated by Curtis & paranoid, there are a lot of RPG like this around.
But I think there isn't any RPG like Arx Fatalis (which is greatly inspired by "Ultima Underworld").
Or like Dungeon Masters (it was a very popular genre back in the 80's) :
Image
same as Might and Magic, here the 5th :
Image

If you know some recent games like Arx Fatalis or Dungeon Masters, please let me know.

Also, Spiderweb's games are very poor visually. They look like they're almost out of the 80's... :?
Image

I know Tennis Elbow is not exactly up to date, but at least, it looks from the late 90's or early 2000's... :P

Curtis, about ur concern about the realism of the world, although it's very understandable, but in most RPG it's like this...
If i do a RPG, I'd care more about to create a big dungeons interesting to explore, with some story & characters if possible... I think it's the 1st important things to have a nice game experience... :)

How did you get a player with 8 APs? (last illustration) I don't think I've ever been able to get above 6.

Edit: Ah, I see. Avernum 5! I've only played up through Blades of Avernum (and Nethergate Resurrection). The artwork in your first two examples is beautiful, but the first is a little too dark to make out what's going on. Is it an illustration of what you see before you turn on the lights?

The Avernum 5's screenshot is from the authors' website... ;)

The Arcanum's screenshot is taken on sunset... It's likely they'll turn on the lights in the streets & in the houses soon... :)

The Arcanum graphics are impressive. What I'm looking for in an RPG isn't "…big dungeons interesting to explore, with some story & characters if possible...", it's the interesting storylines and intereactions with NPCs. This is something the Spiderweb games do fairly well, especially with their use of multiple quests to allow you multiple objectives. It sounds to me that you are more interested in designing a 'first person shooter' game than one with real role playing. There's nothing wrong with that, but monster bashing is not the the best part of these game (for me).

Besides, if you plan graphics as good as Arcanum or Arx Fatalis, I won't be able to buy it, because my graphics card is not that good.

I really enjoy tennis games, but I would love a racing one.

There could be a "Career mode" from Karts to F1 (what about Karts-->Formula BMW---->Formula 3-->World Series-->GP2-->F1?), or a "Single Season" with any series... I'm excited just to think about it...

i think you should stick to the tennis because you've made such a good job of it. Although a 1st person shooter would'nt go amiss either ;)

R.Gasquet, the FPS market is already crowded by AAA games which some of them have a great gameplay, so I think I better do not try this style... ;)

Curtis, no I surely don't want to do a FPS ; if you have the occasion, you should try Arx Fatalis, it's a great game and it has nothing to do with FPS (even the heroic fantasy ones like Heretic & Hexen - which are very old, but I don't know any newer... :-p )... And I don't want to do a Diablo-like either...
Also, Arcanum is only 2D so except if ur computer is older than 1995, then it should run it smoothly... ;)
Arx Fatalis is 3D, but from 2002, so if u have a good PC from 2000, and an average from 2002 or later, then it's likely to run it...

My computer is from 2002. It has a 32megabyte graphics card with 32 bit color and (as far as I know) no 3D capability.

If Mana Games ever gets around to making an F1 manager game, I posted my F1 manager game idea on a website a while ago - http://www.mygameideas.com/ideas/518

Seeing as how TEM was such a great game, I think you should use your talent to make some other sports (mainly motorsport!) management games now :P

Manutoo I really think you should try and make a racing manager game, probably F1 manager. I'm not sure if you follow F1 much but there aren't any upto date F1 manager games for the PC anywhere. There is online F1 manager games where you manage your own team but it's not great because you have to race on set days when they tell you to and the only game you can play on your PC against computer teams is called Grand Prix Manager and that is about 7 years old now.

There is quite a few people who would love to see a new F1 manager game, I used to visit Grand Prix Manager forum a lot a few years ago and they were desperate to see a new F1 game being made but no one was in the process of releasing one :( You would really need decent knowledge of F1 to make an F1 manager game though, you would need to know how good to rate the drivers and teams and what managing an F1 team would be like. Then again it doesen't have to be just F1... You could maybe make a racing manager game where you can manage different types of race team, like touring car team or something like that.

I think you should defanitly stick to the TE and TE manager games though and don't stop making new ones in the future :) I know you won't though. I would love to see a TE manager 2 sometime in the future, you have TE2009 so try and put developments for a new TE on the back burner and concentrate on making possibly a racing game manager or a new TE manager.
