laptop struggles to keep up [Heating Issue]

Postby nschulman20 » 17 Oct 2012, 20:55

This is probably something that I cannot control without updating my laptop but your input and advice on the matter would be appreciated regardless.

When I open the game to play the World Tour, my computer is perfect, the ball speed and player movements are very fluid as the game is intended. However, after about 15-20 minutes; my computer begins to really heat up even with a cool mat and the ball and player movements become very jerky like my computer is struggling to keep up with playing. If i turn off the game and close the lid; the game returns to normal functioning after about a ten minute cool-down rest.

My laptop is a few years old but is still a pretty nice spec, (I'm not a computer guy but it has plenty of memory and space for the game) since i'm not a gamer besides Tennis Elbow and don't download music or movies on it.

Any suggestions for getting the game to stop over-working my computer so the level of play stays nice and fluid?

Hello,

as it seems to be an heating problem, it means your laptop specs are good enough.
But you should check for :
- dust accumulated inside your laptop ; if there's any, you'll have to open it to clean it (it can be a bit tedious if you're not used to open PCs & laptops)
- non-working fan : either coz disabled from software, or coz unplugged, or coz broken
- space around your laptop, just to be sure the air can circulate easily

Optionally, you can lower the video details in the game settings, so your laptop will likely get less hot.
