Could you bring back old backhand 5? This one has a shortened reach and I have to get into the ball with my whole body to play it, especially for cross-courts and when I hit it down the line it is usually shorter than before because of the changed gesticulation. I did mention that I miss a lot of balls, even when I want to slice. I mean you shouldn't have changed it during the USO.

I can agree with the one if JJ is talking about 2 handed backhand because this is the same backhand I use. And when I just played a match if my body was basically at the ball i wasn't able to hit the ball at all and I know I was clsoe enough to it. Seems like this bandhand lost a lot of reach.

I've talked to some people on chat and everyone experience the same problem: Movement is very strange in new update, it feels "slippery" and lacks control.

Manutoo please fix this, as the game control was one of the best things with in Tennis Elbow.

This update is great compared to the last one, no issues with movement now 8-) ...Yesterday's update had those bizarre "mtrun-like" moments when the player would randomly start to sprint 5 times faster than Usain Bolt which made positioning for clean shots impossible...

The only thing I don't understand is why you changed some of the cool animations for fh/bh (e.g. fh 4)

Actually I am talking about one-handed backhand, but I guess we have the same problem. xd

Played it more tonight. Moving upwards feels much better, thats a good point if it's stays balanced with drops, i guess this can be tweaked with drop stats if needed so, good times. Also overall better movement abilities and defensive possibilities at the same speed mark.

Though, a thing i really dont like is, i don't know if it's coming from the auto-pos changed, or the "auto-step back" thing, but honestly the slow auto-pos feels much more heavyer than before, it' feels like previous medium autopos or more  really don't like this at all because it prevents creativity, like shot on the run, or just quick positionning. Also it's not only some heavyer autopos, but it sometimes acts weird, i could see it again, sometimes you're just perfectly positionned (or feeling so, meaning if not exactly perfect, you wouldn't have misshit anyways) to hit your shot, and when starting to hold your stroke button, the char starts to move back and forth weirdly, just preventing you to hit like you wanted to, let's call it the "slippery" effect. Looking forward to hear more about this, because even with slow autopos, i was interested to see some no-autopos option (what would it cost to introduce it ?), but now i'm more than ever, really worrying about this TE sim component. It would be much better for rallying imo, the only (big) drawback would be for returning the serves, wich can find some good help in the autopos feature.
Still the previous slow-autopos was acceptable and i wish to see it back like it was in 1.0e.

Jelena Jankovic & Serena Williams Fan,
both 1H-BH & 2H-BH #5 didn't change since v1.0e.
What changed is that the positioning is more stable during the run for 1H-BH #5. For 2H-BH #5 it didn't change coz it was already not moving much.

Stajus,
I'll try to add an option to disable the alternate acceleration animation in the next build.

Elias,
if you press a strike button, the auto-back doesn't work, so to avoid it, just press a button when you already well placed, before to release the left/right.
I'll fix this for next Build : I'll disable the auto-back when the ball is already in reach of your player.

Autopos speed didn't change : you can very easily check that in warmup, by standing near the lane, and pressing a button while the 1st ball is coming, and compare the different autopos settings.
Autopos doesn't prevent shot on the run, coz it's inactive when your player is moving faster than the autopos speed. And faster autopos actually makes shot on the run easier to do, as it'll help you more to get in the correct position (so you can aim a bit earlier).

>> when starting to hold your stroke button, the char starts to move back and forth weirdly

That might be due to using strike anim that contains left/right movement. When you run, it's now removed, but it's restored when you stop to run or just before the ball impact. The result is more or less good depending of the anim. I tested it with 1H-BH #5 where it felt much easier to position my player on the run (especially small runs when the ball is 3 or 4 meters away) ; at end of run, there's often a quick left/right move (that comes from the anim itself, but the movement initial part has been removed during the run, so it looks quicker than normal) just before ball impact, but as at that point you should be already correctly positioned, it shouldn't have bad consequences.
As it's purely a visual trick, I could add an option to disable it without having to do a new Build, but I'd like to see an anim that gives a real problem with it 1st. Maybe just fiddling the time before the impact where the position is given back to the strike anim may help to solve the issue (right now, it's 1/6th of second).

I picked up a sound or crowd bug in WT.
Attached a .dmo below, the point before 0-2, after I hit a first serve wide, the crowd moans (usually when you lose on break point etc.) and after the point ends, theres nothing.

i didn't tested much different chars and anims, though felt approx the same about positionning, less freedom.

Also just as an example, have a look at this quick video (taken from the warmup) , i'm using youzhny in red wich is some wawrinka/berdych hybrid here :p You'll see some movement jerkiness left/right just before my last shot. The game did this without even i started to activate any stroke. It's emphasizes maybe a bit more the issue about movement freedom because it's really like something happens sometimes with the movement on the run, or moreover just stopping to receive a ball without hitting a shot key.

Maria Sharapova,
thanks for your report, bug fixed for next Build.

Elias,
that's the autoback in (bad) action ; that's why you have to press a button to make it stop... ;)

well it's way too much often in action then, because there is several situations where i don't want to stop that early, turning around a BH is probably one of those, it's just prevents or cause trouble to continue the movement to reach the desired position, before we were able to use the player inertia on the run, just stopping to run in time, knowing the char will slide a bit, and then starting hitting at the right moment, now the autoback will just stop the char/drag it back, that's much more restrictive movement wise, it's removing some (lots of) gameplay depth :?
