Running TE in the background

Postby Elias » 17 Aug 2012, 03:59

Hello,

Well it's not really about a bug, but moreover a behaviour.

I noticed on one of my computers, the older one, wich runs a windows XP, that i could run TE in the background (replay or CPU vs CPU), so then
when i'm bringing another software active (surfing the web for instance), TE still contiues to play in the background etc.

For some reason i can't do this on my main computer wich runs Windpws 7 x64, i tried several things, processor affinity , retro compatibility
to windows XP, exec as admin, etc .. no avail, TE always freezes in place when a bring another app to the foreground (it doesnt crash, just
freezing, and as soon as i give the focus again to TE window, the game continues)

Any idea why this is happeneing or anything i may change in the system to have this working in the background ?

It's not much important but it would just be more cumfortable for me then for capturing some matches videos with bandicam , doing something else, instead of watching at the same time :)

Hello,

in Tennis.ini (or the .ini of your Profile if you created one), you have to change this line, under [Game], from :
NoPauseInCPUvsCPU= 0
to :
NoPauseInCPUvsCPU= 1

It still doesn't work, i mean using the replay feature, not cpu vs. cpu mode.
my goal was to make a video capture without watching it.

i'm replaying a .dmo in the warm-up, then it starts, and as soon as i bring chrome or any other app to the foreground, TE window freezes/pause.

though it works perfectly in cpu vs cpu mode.

If it worked in the past in replay mode, it was likely a bug.
For next update, I'll add a case for NoPauseInCPUvsCPU= 2 to also not pause even if there's human playing.

Works well now, though when switched in the background, the sounds seems muted, so then it's not captured in the video :?

Download the patch (not the demo), and in your profile .ini , add this line, under [Sound] :
Coop = 2
You should then hear sound even when the game window doesn't have the focus.
