About counters hitting great shots, PowerBaseliners can hit insane shots.. Here is a Dmo. of a set between a power baseliner (me who never played without net before) vs Oussama hassad (a great counter I guess).. Enjoy :)

If you wanted to change the counter accelerations why havent you done it with previous build? It takes a while to get used to every new build you make, you just change some formulas and we have to adapt our games to it. It's good that you try to make the game better, but I think you should limit the gameplay changes to like one update per month. It's not that simple for us to change our habits and the game can be dreadful when you are not adjusted to the new version.

If you think that counters can "too easily accelerate some kind of balls", why don't you try to reduce the accelerations on those kinds of balls, not in general? I think accelerations hit after powerful shots are fine, if anything you probably could make hitting counter accelerations off slower balls harder(cuz that's what a counter's supposed to be like, right?), not in general. If counters cannot hit good accelerations against heavy hitters then what's the whole point of this style?

Manutoo, I'm afraid if you lower the counter accelerations on some balls, any opponent will be able to do some slice fest like crazy and counters won't be able to do anything on those slow balls. To me it's already much more risky to handle some deeper balls, so i can't catch a good enough angle and hope to defend anything after that. Don't forget that counters in real life defend a lot and with ease coz they aren't obliged to hit balls with much amplitude like some other very powerfull baseliners have to.

whats wrong with short acceleration ? Why are you changing that? No one complained about it.

Ps - Since some players are too keen to make this game as realistic as possible, when do u plan to eliminate those unrealistic returns (stand in middle and run at the sides :) )

If you don't like this patch then search for an old version. You can still find version 1.0c somewhere. But please STOP writing this awful comments. I think that this game is getting better and better every time and your comment are totally nonsense.

was saying the opposite, it's easier, if you want a short slice, to just mishit.

Will repeat myself, any mishit should go straight out, 100% of the times.

If some of them aren't actual mishits, improve motions to let us know we're actually hitting the ball.

Algo,
I did a quick try and it seems rather hard to do a miss-hit slice that ends on the service line. It's possible to do a short preparation to get a chance to do a short slice but it's rather random.

Everybody,
right now, the best shot in game is the short acceleration (with the regular acceleration when ball is at shoulder height). It's not too overpowered coz it's hard to get in a position to strike it perfectly, except for the Counter, which can hit a good short acc even while standing within the orange part of the Danger Zone. This big advantage comes without any disadvantage : the other bonus/handicaps of the short acceleration are same than all other styles ; ie: the Counter doesn't need a fast incoming ball to hit a fast short acceleration, which is normal, as a fast short acc isn't that fast (around 120-130km/h). So I need to correct that, coz it gives a big ascendant in the rallies to the Counter, which makes him overpowered. It means in next Build, the Counter would have to step back a bit to hit a correct short acc.
Moreover, as I said in my precedent message, I will tune a bit the speed of the Counter regular acc, only in certain cases ; I don't want him to be able to easily hit acceleration above 140km/h when the incoming ball isn't from an opponent acceleration ; being able to hit easily above 140km/h means he can accelerate about as good & regularly as other styles in some cases, which is not normal.

I won't do a new Build before a couple of weeks (actually even maybe a bit more, to wait the end of Miami).
I'm just announcing a bit before the important changes & main reasons of next Build, so people can give their thoughts before, hoping for less complaining after (but my hopes aren't that high ;) ).

BTW, I'll also raise a bit the Defender topspin depth, so he'll be able to defend a bit more easily.

Algo,
I answered about the regular slice miss-hit leading to being short (ie: B2), not the short slice combo strike. So I repeat, you can't easily & constantly do a B2 slice that ends on the service line.

Hey Manu

I still feel that the CPU hits far too agressively on the incoming low sliced shot...as I know it, the slice (in real life, at least) when used agressively is used to upset the opponent's rythym/timing (ala Federer)

A few weeks ago Federer positively dissected Delpo's huge game by changing up the rythym while using the slice to keep the ball low and out of Delpo's power strike zones...
