I haven't said nothing about the movement at all. But after the match I just played it really impossible to play defense at all. Ypu get lucky to get to one ball if you put on defense. I hate to say it but I believe this might be the worse update you done yet or close to it. I remember about 2 years ago when you up the volley stats to way to much this is getting very close to that update of being horrible. It seems like all the female players moves like Maria Sharapova or Lindsay Davenport.

The new version not only makes us run like grandpas, but it also causes a massive amount of desyncs in all of my matches. I don't want to seem dramatic, but I think this is the worst version of TE I ever played. I think this game is supposed to be pleasant to play and with this movement its just mainly watching the ball fly past you and is all about guessing the right direction instead of skillful rallying.

You're sacrificing too much of the stuff that made TE fun in the name of realism. Everybody may have been incredibly quick but at least it led to entertaining rallies. This is just boring.

Another note on the run changes,
Let check a few numbers, shall we..?
Time needed for a player with 100% Speed to run 10 meters, from idle position :
* in Build 80:
- 200cm tall : 1.73s
- 155cm tall : 1.70s
* in Build 81 :
- 200cm tall : 1.85s
- 155cm tall : 1.80s
Time needed for the fastest man in the world (aka Bolt and his 9.69s for 100 meters) to reach the 10-meter mark :
- total : 1.85s
- without reaction time : about 1.70s

Now, must I remind you that the tennis players run with a racket, and without starting blocks, and without an unique training dedicated to pure speed ?

In Build 80, the players were way too fast ; now with Build 81, they're more human like, although still likely above what any pro tennis player could accomplish in real life, holding a racking on a real tennis court.

So I don't know what your grandpas are drinking, but I guess I should have some... :blackeye:

Anyway, for next Build, I'll give a tiny little boost to the run acceleration around start of the run, coz I want to ease a bit the return of serve, and it might help against volleyers as well.

SamModder,
oops, clay court selection for team with clay specialist was bypassing the new extended court selection I did..! ;)
It should be fixed now (court selection is done 1 week before the Country Cup actually starts).

Florian,
I'd need to see some .dmo against volleyers to see if the balance is really that bad... But basically, you have 3 weapons :
- short acceleration, when you have enough time to prepare it
- short strike, when you still have time but not enough for the short acceleration
- mishit normal strike (ie: B1 strike hits with the body instead of the racket), when you're short on time ; the ball is slower, but it's also way shorted, creating more angles, thus it can lead to an effective passing shot

Serena Williams Fan,
don't re-dl, just remove entry in your firewall.

SC Tom,
yup the current patch is for Demo v1.0d & up ; if you had Demo v1.0c + Patch to 1.0d, the latest patch cannot work...

adner,
Desync are usually related to pep modding their game (if not you, then your opponent), not to the new version by itself.

And how do I do that Manu?

With the running you going to make it as real as possible even if your messing with game totally cool I guess   But I'm glad your goign to help against volley because this build helps them the most it seems espically the peopelt aht serve and volley.

Always the same courts are taken! But I found what's wrong now: If you could do me a favor  Can you do something so it starts selecting the courts AFTER the first 9 ones in Tour.ini please, for example all clays, Indoors, Hard (designed in Tour.ini as CL, IN, HD, HD_BG, ect...) that are assigned to unkown futures and Challenger won't be used and the selection goes directly to the best tournaments?? That would be great! Thanks!

I'm quite new to this game and I play with the latest of course, and it seems to me that lot of balls can be returned, more than in real life.
So I don't really understand the complaints about the players are slow and move like grandpa :)

Great game Manu, keep it going!

Facepalm. A new player plays at a poor level and can't give a good judgment on this. Sorry, but this is a fact.

That's all fun, but you forgot that real tennis players can't hit like TE players...the average shot speed and placement isn't nearly as good. Btw, don't dare to reduce the net if you're gonna keep this poor running speed (compared to shot speed), otherwise I'd like to see a refund actually because you're crafting this game fully in favour of certain players and certain styles. I'd rather lose 7-6 6-7 6-7 to Dr.Ivo than get bageled by a counter. Another thing showing the game is poorly optimised is that Voja can't beat anyone anymore with the defender style - may I remind you, Nadal is a defender and ONLY gets beaten consistently by one basher - Djokovic ;) Final point - I've had 25-30 winners and just 5 errors in a bunch of exhibition sets over the last few days since the update - you call these W-UE stats realistic? What a f***ing joke. It's too hard to defend and too easy to hit winners with this speed...ATP players make a FH winner when they hit 150 kmh+ too, but how often can they hit like that? Here, it's too easy, so if you're going to follow the Usain Bolt speed LOL, then you also need to look into the ATP players shot placement and speed :annoyed: It's that simple ;) I have to agree with adner; this is one of the worst versions in a long time, the worst one was the "supernet" version for the WTF 2009...If you're going to reward simple line bashes of 150 kmh that anyone can hit instead of defending that takes actual skill, then I don't know what else to say to you...

P.S. Tennis players aren't even near Usain Bolt in terms of speed either...meaning the shots are far too good even with "superhuman" running...

Another thing - So many players are complaining that the players are too slow when defending, right? Ok, let's see whom this favours. Who are the players that can turn around the serve advantage with fluke returns most often and then hit winners against the serve? The best returners.

What you're making here is a winners galore unrealistic game with superfast balls, even too fast for what you claim to be Usain Bolt running...And another thing you're making is a game where people hold the serve relatively easily by 150 kmh winners...and then we have the top returners that can fluke deep returns more often and hence have a better chance of breaking. I'll make an ATP analogy once again - Rafael Nadal returns like SHIT. Rafael Nadal nearly beat Novak Djokovic at the AO 2012 F.
