I'm just gonna put this out there cuz it was something that always annoyed me when I played. When people approach the net and someone hits a short shot that lands near you you're guy will invariably take a full swing at the ball instead of hitting a volley. The result of this is always an error. So you could take a look into that.... kthx bye.

Yeah, the game lacks half volleys I guess...but it's not a huge issue
And if you really meant "volley", then the answer is...You weren't close enough to the ball

Not necessarily a half volley. if the shot/surface is slow/short enough and allows the bounce to come up suitably a volley is fine.

Hello,

hitting a ball just before or just after the bounce is one of the hardest thing to achieve in tennis, so it's normal it leads to an error most of the time...

For the shot, it'd be better to have the volley animation in some cases, yup, I'll try to check that on the occasion...

EDIT: if you hit just before the bounce, doing a slice volley instead of the normal strike should give you more chances to avoid the error

I think I've seen the CPU (on Incredible Sub Level 10 + volleyer) hit a volley animation after my net cords in the past...Not sure how, as we (human players) can't do that...But again, this is from memory so I'm not 100% sure

i agree with Richou.i see many times player jumps like a frog even when ball comes very slow.its hilarious and he does an error always (atleast 99% times).my opponent sometimes hit a net cord when i m standing at net and the ball falls very slow (i have ample time to take position and hit it) but my player jumps like a frog and and hits an error ,instead of taking position and hit it.its seen in doubles more often.especially when someone do dropshots when i m at net,i see this kind of thing.hilarious Manutoo its difficult to hit half volley when ball is travelling fast not slow.i can bang it back if its coming slow lol so check it out
