Training efficiency: is it possible to reach 100% in skills?

Postby The Engraver » 19 Nov 2010, 00:34

Hi. My name is Corrado and I'm a newbie of this forum, so I hope you will excuse me if I will write in a wrong section of the forum.
I purchased TE 2010 and updated to 2011. I have a Mac.
I'm playing a world tour as pro, level 5. I'm winning all matches. But there's some missing in my comprehension.
I see all rivals have a very high percentage in shots, right, left, service, etc. etc. and I have a less percentage, despite of it, I win.
I would ask you some tricks.
When I play, my percentage is, f.e., 65%. After a tournement, I have a less percentage, f.e. 60%. But I never reached very high percentages. I've seen rivals having 100% in several shots, and 90% in other. How could I reach this percentages? How manage my experience points? What's the way for? It's only to spare points in several tournements for using all of these in the Grand Slam tournements? Or there's something in the way to play?

Many thanks. :-)

Hello,

you can't reach 100% in all your skills, but you should be able to reach 90%+ in a few of them.

Read here for some info : www.managames.com/tennis/doc/Tennis_Elb ... l#training

The best way to get high % in your skills is to get a lot of training points by winning a tournament & then training the following week, sometimes even 2 weeks of training.

Ok, many thanks, but....there's something I don't understand. I win a match, ok, but how can I do a training? It's simply chose a tournament after two weeks, or should I train in another way?
I've seen that if I win a match I win less points than if I lose because defeat learn much more than the victory. Ok, that's why I have few percentage, because I realized 3 Grand Slam consecutive (12 grand slam tournaments) so I'm undefeated, hehehehhh.

Yup, the training screen pops up automatically before you enter a new tournament ; there's no other way to train.
When you win a tournament, you get a little bonus in your training points. And all in all, you get a lot more points by winning all the rounds & the final than by losing on the 1st round... ;)

Oh, ok....I did think I must do a training with the training club, hehehehhh. ;-)
But if you say I will get more points winning all, why in the link you gave me it says "with defeat more points because a defeat teach more than a victory"? It's a joke? :-)

Many thanks.

No, it's because if you win on 1st round, you'll get something like 10 points, but if you lose, you'll get about 20 points.
So losing 1 match gives you more points than winning 1.
But losing 1 match gives less points than winning a tournament in 5 matches or more... ;)

Aaaaaahh, ok, it's clear. Last question: so, if I play a 7 rounds tournament, and I win 6 matches, if I lose the 7th (the final) I will get more points than if I win the 7th?

No, actually there's an exception when you win a final, you'll get some bonus points so you'll win a bit more points by winning the final instead of losing.
The higher the tournament class is, the more points.
For the gameplay : it's better, so it doesn't encourage you to lose in final.
For the realism : often tournament winners see a nice boost in their confidence...
