Disable or Lowering the Dynamic Animation system

Hello,

the Dynamic Animation system is what makes the player bend to reach far, high or low balls.

It has been stable enough for a while now, with the latest noticeable change in last September, but some people still do not appreciate that it can alter so much the player animations.

So in today's build, it's possible to damper its effect or even turn it off.

To do so, add these 2 lines under [3dEngine] in your Tennis.ini : (HowTo => topic19-32161.php )
IkDamper = 20 20 10
IkScale = 1 1 1

IkDamper lowers the extra reach for all 3 axis ; in the example above, it lowers the left/right reach by 20cm, the up/down reach by 20 cm, and the forward/backward reach by 10 cm. These are the values I recommend : this will still change the anims a bit when the ball is very far or high/low, but in a much less noticeable way than with the default parameters.

The system already dampers by default on forward/backward, that's why I recommend only 10 cm for it instead of 20 cm.

IkScale scales the default reach ; ie: if you put 0.5, then the player will reach for example 5 cm instead of 10 cm. With "1 1 1", it doesn't change anything.

Strikes that have animations for high/low balls will not use the up/down value. (ie: only the volleys today ; hopefully someday, other ones :blackeye: )

So visually, the player will hit balls that don't touch his racket. If you disable completely the system (with, for example, "IkDamper = 100 100 100"), then you'll clearly see the ball is far from your player's racket but is still hit. With the recommended values above, it is not too much noticeable. Currently, the max extra left/right reach is 40cm (it used to be 50cm, but it was creating really too weird animation) or less when running to the side.
