Serving Aces Tips

Postby knich » 31 Mar 2024, 03:30

My HUM player has over 95 power, precision and consistency but I rarely get aces against CPU. Anyone have tips on how to get aces?

Following up on this. I cannot serve Aces and not really sure why I cannot hit lines. I had not problem doing this in TE2013.

Sorry, I forgot to answer you.

You should definitively be able to ace the Pro-10 if you have 90%+ in your service skills.

Do not release left/right before hitting the ball, or else you'll lose a lot of precision (plus your aiming won't work the same when playing online).

Try to use Training Club -> Service Training till you get the ball on the line regularly. The best is to find a visual clue on your serve animation. Some animations might be much better than others for that. (eg: for the #2, IIRC, you have to start to aim left/right when the ball leaves your player's hand)

Yeah I've tried everything. Nothing is working. With 90+ skills it shouldn't be that hard to serve aces. There are some matches where I serve less than 3 aces, while the CPU with lower skill aces me.

Again I routinely served aces at that skill level with TE2013 as much as 20+ aces in a match. Really not sure what you changed? CPU returns almost everything. It makes very few errors on return of serve.

Also I don't think the Boom Boom and Clutch Server traits work that well. I rarely see difference in my server power or accuracy on break points.

Compared to TE2013, the players are slower in TE4, but they have a 40cm extra reach coz they can bend now. Overall, it shouldn't be too different, although the average serve speed might be a bit lower.

If you just want to do more aces, then change in your Tennis.ini, under [Game] : (HowTo => topic19-32161.php )
AiSlowerReturner = 0
to :
AiSlowerReturner = 0.05
or even more, to make the CPU less good on return of serve.

Great...if I wanted CPU serve speed to be faster would I put in a negative value? For example: -0.05?

If you want faster serves, you use :
AiSlowerServer = -5
to gain 5% speed in average.
