[Suggestion] Short Acceleration Traits

I had 2 different suggestions related to short accelerations. Like Accelerations i think would be nice to have short acc traits. Doesn't need to be too much like normal acc traits(6-7) it could be 3-4. Not sure about ideas but one could be like rapid fire some faster preparation but slower. Maybe little longer but faster. Could depend on styles, surfaces, spin, passing etc.

Or being able to select short accelerations based on Acceleration traits. But 2 type of choice for both accelerations. Ex: Heavy hitter for normal acceleration and Rapid fire for short acceleration. Second suggestion might be weird but still would be nice to have some sort of short acc traits.

I don’t think we need more trait pollution. This is getting out of hand. It’s better that the strokes are cleaned up than creating a thousand traits for every single situation ever observed in a tennis point

If we can’t generate certain shots then it’s a mechanics issue, it shouldn’t be a case where we constantly have to sprinkle on new traits

Agree 100%. This game is going from a tennis sim to an RPG game where you have to choose the best stats, talents and traits. We just need good shot mechanics that are more skill-based and based on player control rather than traits, rng and stats. The serve mechanic needs a huge overhaul rather than adding something like "boom boom serve" or "on time server" to hit consistently faster serves. The controls for this game are so basic and dumbed down for how much potential this game has to beome an amazing tennis sim.

Specially the on Serve talent i think there shouldn't be a talent like that atleast for online play. It just takes the nerve part. When you are break down with that talent you have a great chance of hitting your first serve. Other talents i understand and probably great for offline play but on Serve talent i think shouldn't be used online. I understand the boom boom server talent I think it makes sense if serve system stays like now. Some players wants to have more controll and hit faster serves. I had no problem about serve system as I'm not a huge server guy(char).

About traits i think they don't have almost any significant advantage they are ok other than heavy hitter. I think heavy hitter just great and much better than other traits. I don't feel the negativity on it atleast on clay. Probably didn't lose a point because i slowed down after hitting acceleration. I get the community's or some people's complain about traits for making game less realistic.

I kind of agree about traits but good talent with great idea can be implemented. In general i like talents but some of them like on serve talent makes less sense to me for online. Also now regular acc trait hits max -3kmh less compared to before without traits. So to have regular acceleration lead to hitting less powerfull. I'm okay for other surfaces but on clay probably this makes rallies even longer and why people complains.

I'll never do a 2nd trait choice only for the Short Accelerations ; however, I'd not be against adding an Acceleration Trait that would affect only the Short Acceleration if it makes sense both in terms of tennis dynamics & gameplay-wise.

the Acceleration Trait is to paint a tennis player's characteristic, exactly like the Forehand Power skill describes how powerful is his FH. :thinking:
