Problems with the Linux version in the world tour

Postby Actarus69 » 08 Apr 2023, 00:38

Hi Manutoo.

I'm trying to play the World Tour but I ran into some problems (bugs?):

1) Sometimes the match already starts with my player leading 2 games to 0;

2) If I quit the game and choose to continue later, then when I reload it it doesn't start from the same score I left, but always from 2-0 for my player or another score;

3) If I choose a unique tournament (I don't know if the translation is correct) and then I have to play my first tournament, it won't let me play it, I have only two options: character card, look at the draw. I wait but I don't play. Is this normal?

The full Linux version I'm using is 0.80 (Build 102-2023.2.4)

Thank you

Hello,

1) 2) It's already fixed with the Windows version ; you can try to delete your .match file in your Profile folder, maybe it'll help

3) Did you put yourself in the draw or at least left an auto slot for your player ? If not, you won't do the tournament. If all slots are on auto, then that's a strange bug... :fear:

Thanks Manu for the answers.

I did a fresh install of TE4, then tried to stop and continue a match, it only happened once that the score was not where I stopped the match but deleting the WT_Current.match file in my profile fixed it. I hope it doesn't happen again, but if so, do I delete the file again?

As for the Single Tournament, I still haven't figured out how to insert my player (chosen from the list or created new) in the slot, it only lets me insert the others but not mine. However now it seems to be useless, I tried several times and it makes me participate in the tournament :)

The World Tour section is different from that of TE2013, more beautiful and more complete, and I still have to understand everything, I've been playing TE4 for a few days :D

One question: when I create my new player in the World Tour it doesn't let me save it, I would like to do it and then import it into the Training Club. How can I save it? Thanks.

1) Yes, delete it again in case it happens again

2) Maybe you got a bug that made your player not enter the tournament :fear:

3) Look at the bottom right of your Character Sheet to save your player to the Training Club

Hi Manu,

The World Tour scoring bug has reoccurred more than once, but I've managed to figure out what causes it, and have also done some testing to confirm.

So, let's say I interrupt a match in the WT and choose continue later. Then afterwards I feel like playing a friendly match in the Training Club, I play a bit and again I interrupt and choose to continue later. Back in the WT, continue the match, and surprise, find the exact same score as the match I stopped in the Training Club!

Naturally, if I delete the WT_current.match file in my profile as you told me to do, the problem is solved, but it's okay if I have interrupted a match where I have played a few points and/or games, but not when, for example, I am about to finish a match, because by deleting that file I start playing the match over again :(

You said this problem is already fixed in Windows version, so not on Linux yet? Please do this next time you release a new update for the Linux version? Thank you.

By "Windows version", I actually meant "the latest official version which has been already released on Windows & MacOS and will be released on Linux some day in a while", but "Windows version" was shorter... ;-)

Except a very few things (the anti-sleeping screen being one of them), the game is totally identical on all OSes.
