-are elite controls actually working?, I didn't feel any change
-maybe now it's finally time to have backhand smash, since the player is turning to backhand side too when he's lobbed

thumbs up for the improvement of the slice it needed to be upgraded and now it will bring some different play instead of all the same, lets just hope it wont get too overpowered for Fx defenders..

I am not blaming you to say that. But I would like to thanks Manu for adding such animation. In my opinion, in order not to make it look funny somehow, if the ball is still not passing the player over head, the animation should be such that the upper body should turn only about 45 degrees while the face is looking at the ball, while the lower body could be almost 180 degrees only to make the feet go straight to where it should go. In this situation, positioning for smash will not be funny or any other strike the player wants to do. I think if the ball already passed the player's body over head, this is the time that the body should turn 180 degrees and whereby I think smash will quite not possible so other strike will take place or possibly like hitting the ball between the legs like the pro players. :). Just my opinion, but then again, as Manu said, this new animation is not easy to implement.

About the back run on lob,
I tried to make the player runs only when the ball was going behind him, but actually, as the run was shorter, it looked even more strange than the current result...
I'll try to tune it a bit more when I'll have the mood, but it's sure now it looks like a backhand smash would nicely help to smooth everything... ;)

Algo,
with Elite Controls, if you're perfectly positioned, you won't notice anything different, except the aiming zone size will decrease 33% slower. To easily check that, turn on the Aiming Preview.
But if you're badly positioned, the handicaps are way stronger, so in this mode, the game is way less forgiving on your mistakes.

Mr.Schmith,
hopefully, the new Slice will be only a small bonus for defenders & a great bonus for net rushers... Anyway, let me know how it turns, if possible.

vamos rafa,
a couple of net cord per match doesn't sound so bad...

Wow, a possibility of adding backhand smash. Manu, I hope double handed backhand smash is included in here not only single. I cant wait to see that.

Manu, regarding the player running backward on lob, maybe if the ball is still approaching the player, sideways animation will be possible like in real life, moving and guiding the feet to where ball is possibly approaching and whereby position the body for a smash. I think this will be a nice animation in addition to moving backward facing the court for a nice smash.

Just another thing. Carpet is no longer a viable surface in ATP tournaments. it hasnt been used since Paris 2008.

I can't find the "ForceSunInBack" parameter in the .ini file with Build 64. It is not in the Camera section. And I did a search, and nothing found.

Brad1981,
I guess you installed the patch, which doesn't contain any new Tennis.ini (to keep the previous settings).
Just add this line under [Camera] in your .ini :
ForceSunInBack = 1

Hi All (manutoo especially)

in TE2011 build 63 I saw few times stupid bug - if one player make a good ball and opponent only touch the ball so bounces it somewhere outside, point is added to the opponent.

I played couple of games against computer and met this problem on both sides - for my benefit or my lost, same as on the return or at long exchange.

It looks like refree mistakes, maybe it's preparing for Hawk-Eye

Thanks for great game

ivosh,
this bug was present only 4 or 5 days, and it is now already fixed ; so you can download & install again the game (or the patch) to fix it.
