problem with ultra wide screen resolutions

Postby gvd24 » 31 Aug 2020, 08:21

I am playing te 2013 on a ultra wide monitor, native resolution 3440x1440, exclusive fullscreen, 3d courts.
The problem i have is that i lose a great deal of the view behind my baseline on this resolution, so if i retrieve to far back my player disappears half or completely.
When i lower the resultion (ex 2560x1440) the problem is gone but i have black borders on the side
Is there a solution or workaround for this?

Hello,

could you post a screenshot ?

What is your camera mode ?

I think it happens in the same way than any other resolution, eg :

Image

=> Mild Dynamic Camera Mode (zoom on medium, but it's almost same with max zoom out)

thx for the quick response
Its indeed the same as the picture you posted only on 3440x1440 it happens a lot sooner, it seems the camera does not follow the player far enough backwards as you can see below, this is with itst mod but its the same without mod

picture below is on 2560x1440, you can see i can stand back further behind the baseline without the player disappearing, on this resolution i offcourse have black borders on the sides.

Oh yup, I remember now : the max unzoom in TE2013 was based on the horizontal FOV instead of the vertical one.
I fixed that for TEM2/TE4, but I did a nearly complete rewrite of the camera code so I cannot backport it to TE2013 without taking too much time... :fear:

Maybe you try to set Zoom, under [Camera], in your Tennis.ini, with a negative value, but I have no idea if it'll work or not.

I checked and it doesn't work.

So I'm sorry, but right now, I guess there's nothing you can do to make it better... (except having black bars on the side like you already tried)
