Hi forum,
Since there's no TE4 demo, Is the TE4 game play similar to TM2 so I can test it with its demo?

Thanks in advance

Sloty,
yes, the gameplay is identical except there are more skills in TEM2. The only noticeable difference is that your player can get stressed in TEM2 tournament matches, but it won't happen in TE4.

iloveme2233,
why should the interface change ?
The skin for TE4 is already done since the 1st Prototype release : viewtopic.php?p=263467#p263467 .

Regarding the graphics in this game, I'm quite satisfied (player models are great btw) but I feel like the surfaces are looking pretty bad, especially the clay ones.
This game's direct competitor has it much much better. Don't think it's hard to come up with better ones

I also noticed this on the Cincinnati/USO courts. My guess is that it's more an artistic decision to make them that way. I haven't said anything because I think surface would be editable by modding, but I pretty much agree with this comment.

Lucian86 & Fed1,
thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, it's impossible for me to do better than the current ground textures by myself ; I slightly improved the grass one by adding dirt patches, but this was the max I could do.
If you know someone that can do better, I'll be happy to see the result ; I could even pay a few bucks. There's one important thing for the clay texture : it requires a decent normal map, else it'd look very flat without one, or weird with a bad one.

However for me, the current ones are quite decent, plus they are consistent with the rest of the visuals, so it's alright. :blackeye:

And yes, I plan to to give the possibility to Mod them, for the people wishing to do so. :)

Hi Manu
I would help you if I can, but unfortunately I know nothing about it. I hope someone with the skills could help you out in this, however let me say this again: There's nothing bad on the surface, it's just an artistic decision that I feel could be improved a little, but it doesn't affect the game experience at all.

Hi Manu,

Since the last update, i have a problem regarding sounds effect on my mac version, with some sizzles on every effect...I don't know if other mac users have the same issue

Dodarius2,
it's a bug from Unity (the engine I'm using). You have to turn off the music till they fix it... :fear:

Hey guys, have been playing TE4 for a couple of months on and off, trying to get used to it over TE2013, and even though I was at first turned off by some of the changes I've come to believe they work for the better. Playing against opponents feels more interesting than in TE2013.

There are a few things I'm still unsure of but I'm going to keep playing for a while before worrying about them. I thought I'd never get the hang of TE4 but I'm slowly getting there. However, there were two instances when I was playing online that I'd like to bring up:

This slice I hit - why did it hit the net? My positioning looked fine IMO, and I was there with plenty of time to spare. Was it chance or is there something I'm misunderstanding?

I was playing online against this guy and the final shot he hit - I don't get it! Its made with a slice stroke but it hits deep fairly often and causes me to hit a lot of errors (this is a poor example as I stepped in) unless I sit far behind the baseline. I have no idea how to make this shot happen, is this intended behavior? It feels very out of place IMO.

Also a general comment on online play. Serving feels a lot different to me. I can hit serves in constantly offline however it feels that online there are many times where my serve lands somewhere entirely different, sometimes just staying in the centre even if I've aimed left or right. Is this due to the 'fair mode' settings I've been using? Groundstrokes also feel different but I assume that is due to the fair mode as they are still very responsive and I never feel I was cheated out of a point (unlikes some other tennis games) because the game didn't listen to my inputs and favored animation fluidity over responsiveness.

Finally I'd like to say great job manutoo. I've followed the mini dev blog for over a year now and I've always checked in on this site since I got into using mods in TE2013. I can't wait until similar efforts are made by modders in TE4 in the years to come.

ADumbObserver,
1) From the video, it's hard to be 100% sure, but I think you were a bit late to prepare your slice to be sure it'll go in. If you play with Elite controls, then it's sure it was not enough.

2) This strike does indeed look very strange. It seems to be a completely missed banana shot that is somehow hit with a slice animation. If you have the .dmo, you can send it to me and I'll check what happened there... :fear:
