It looks like I can only play the game in 2D after going into settings. You get a still background picture. Does this mean I won't get the new stadiums and other stuff that the game will offer. Sorry for so many questions.

RichW,
what is your GPU ? It might not be compatible with DirectX 11. If you're not sure, you can send me a Bug Report. (HowTo => topic5-31732.php )

yiph2,
unfortunately, the 3D engine currently doesn't work with the Intel IGP Iris on Mac, as you have.

In the Prototype of TE4, I change the Control to Controller for Xbox One of Windows in the Settings. The joystick works in the menu selection; however, when in the warm up games, the Xbox Controller doesn't work at all.

paul-lo,
in the Controls menu, be sure to assign the XBox controller to the "Player 1". It's working fine with mine.

Note: I shortened your username to "paul-lo", else it'd show your email to spambots.

I played a few games and I love it. Runs smoothly on my laptop no lag at all. Very fluid. Stadium is beautiful and looks like a great improvement in terms of details has been done. Game play wise I have the feeling that the ball is much more heavy in terms of physics and more realistic. So far I enjoy it and look forward to the next development phases

Just tested it. Lag a bit on my computer as it is not poewerful enough. 2D courts doesn't look like 2d courts (as in sam mod for example). Maybe a real 2D court would help speed wise.

As for the game play
+:
- the ball is a bit heavier, trajectories are more realistic (especially short slice).
- more net errors, more errors when mis placed.

-:
- volley is still like TE2013
- the players movement are really weird. the look quite slow to me, compare to the ball speed. very difficult to be precise and to place well to the ball.
- sometimes it seems like you hit the air, though you're hitting the ball. weird graphic sensation.

so mixed feeling about this one. i prefer TE 2013 at the moment, by far. but i'm glad to have purchased it if it can help you to develop it further.

I agree partially : volley is still quite hard to do, but I find it more effective.

Nicholas wrote:- the players movement are really weird. the look quite slow to me, compare to the ball speed. very difficult to be precise and to place well to the ball.

Same here; I find that sometimes player's movements are a bit slow especially when trying to get dropshots back. But in general I find the movements more realistic especially when wrong footing a player.

It never happened to me I guess it's inherent to the prototype.

For my part, the only bad thing about TE4 is that I struggle to play TE2013 now cause I find it's gameplay outdated :D :D

For the volley, I'll open a specific topic in a few months, when I'll be working on the gameplay, but I never saw any serious issue about it (except it's a bit OP compared to real-life, but it's to reflect 90's tennis :) ).

The animation fails sometimes, but it already happened in TE2013. It might happen a tiny bit more often in TE4, and possibly in stranger ways. (it usually happens when running a lot to the back)
I'll look into this in detail when I'll do the animation rehaul.

Nicholas,

J'aimerais savoir sur te4 comment activer les zones de danger au service pour viser  . Et aussi si on pourrait régler les fps dans les réglages . Sinon super jeux ! :D

Hey,
After todays update something is wrong with camera zoom. Now is more zoom than before in the same camera settings.

Also lines disappear in the low camera set.

orion,
you cannot have the aiming zone on serve.
If you want to improve your fps, read here : viewtopic.php?p=264842#p264842 (in French)

noname1988,
I raised the aperture range ; default camera is still the same, but if you had a custom one, you have to set it up again.

Thank you Manutoo for answer,
of course I know, about aperture raised few weeks ago, but since yesterday it has just returned to its previous state.

Until yesterday the camera was much further away at this setting:
cam2.jpg

and now it's maximum like here:
cam22.jpg

I can't go back to the previous version to show the difference, but I am 100% convinced that it is big.
Earlier on this camera setting, the shot covered the entire bener from the back (managames). It is now impossible with a minimum apeture setting.. I am perverted about cameras and I will notice every difference: D

EDIT: I think the problem is with the setting on Constatnt Zoom, It gets too close there. On the dynamic camera it's OK. But before on scrolling and consant zoom camera was more far.

noname1988,
for the next update, I just reenable the maximum unzoom from the previous version, but only for the Fixed, Scrolling & Constant Zoom camera modes.

Big thanks Manu! :applause:
I'm slowly getting used to the new physics of TE :)
The game received a lot of realism!
I will write more about my feelings soon.

Thanks again...for all!
