Just a few things I'd like to add after what other people said:
7- if you watch current atp matches you don't really see the players getting tired so I would remove this "energy" system from any tennis game. They work so much their cardio in pre season that they are just all at the same stamina level
8- rallies lenght in atp matches are 75% under 5 shots in every matches. Long rallies are often shown in highlights on youtube but it's not representative of what really happen on a tennis court. In te3 the rallies were 75% above 8 shots... Not realistic at all! I hope TE4 will make the rallies way shorter as they are in ATP then. For this I keep thinking the acceleration button is paramount as the other people say in this thread.

The number of exchanges on TE4 is generally much lower, and rallies quite rare, so actually the game is more realistic on this point. However, I find that the services are far too punitive, and especially the acceleration shots. Maybe the speed of the players is slightly too low, but in any case I'm quite mixed. At the same time I find it realistic, at the same time I find it too punitive and very annoying. And that's also true when I'm the one making a winning move. I find it too easy to leave the opponent a few meters from the ball in just one strike.

enough agree with the last two posts!
services are too punitive, due to the slowness of our player on opposing services

- the legs of the players are way too short compared to the bodies which are too wide... Not a single atp player looks like that.
fognini must have served as a model. :)
this is the first thing I noticed when the new player was revealed.

Everybody,
I did a little mini-blog post to get an idea of the strike depth & speed in TE4 : viewtopic.php?p=267234#p267234 .

Also, so far I didn't work on TE4 gameplay at all.
Currently TE4 is the new ball physics, new strike physics, new player physics, all tuned to give realistic CPU vs CPU matches. So changes will come for the human gameplay.

honestreview
1) It's not a sweet spot thing, but the animation which isn't perfectly synced (do a slowmotion to check that). I already noticed that and I'll look why it happens when I'll be working on the gameplay.

And overall, the sweet spot is currently 3~5cm off because of the extra reach of the player brought by his wider chest. :)
I'll have to recalculate it once I'm sure the player is final.

4) TE2013 ball physics wasn't perfect for many many aspects, especially for the imprecision rules which were not physics-based but 2D based, plus the never-hit-the-net-except-on-big-fault rule. Both lead to many players complaining about these irrealistic aspects of TE2013.

5) The acceleration is already somewhat less forgiving than in TE2013.
The normal shot speed is more or less realistic.

6) If you aim left, and then aim right, the aiming cursor will immediately be on the right side of the opposing court, like if you had just started to aim right.
And in real tennis, you don't aim for the baseline.

7) => topic15-32085.php

Burke,
CPU vs CPU matches give realist rally length average (or 15% above). For human vs CPU matches, I'm not sure as I still didn't play.

And what's wrong with the ball physics ? Or did you mean the strike physics ?

Slt Nico.

Master 10 instead of pro 10 this time
Simulation controls
Auto-pos. medium

Still an issue with the sound though (my mistake)

Honestly, i am very disapointed. I am a big fan of tennis elbow, bought the previous version, played over 100 matches on itst mode. I was so happy when i heared that new version is about to be created. But this videos... i know, early version, alpha version... but i dont see the difference? Motion of running still the same, shots, everything... the same. Correct me if i am wrong, please. I have enormous respect for manutoo who is behind the best similation of tennis game in history, by far, but i was expecting something else. Improved, this looks like a patch. I say again, correct me if i am wrong, but can you tell me 1. 2. 3. 4... difference between old and new. Cause itst verzion looks three times better then this alpha version.

If you can't tell the difference despite all the explanations of this forum I can only invite you to test the game by downloading TEM2 for free. I played ITST quiet a lot and the gameplay is far far under TE4. Not to mention the visuals. Anyway if you say that ITST's version is three times better than this version I guess we did not play at the same game at all...
