Hello! Prototype looks amazing. Are you considering adding some slide on players when they try to reach a ball? Thank you

iLoveRF,
you'd like to see some dirt patch & damage grass ? (I plan to add some)
Or a better detailing of the grass itself ?
Or something else ?

Yeah this is what i meant. It's a bit hard to see any details through YouTube videos though.

I had to lower the resolution of my screen's recorder software (720P) otherwise it was lacking a bit of smoothness.

1- at 0:34 in the wimbledon video, you can see the ball is really far from being in contact with the racquet, I think it must be corrected as soon as possible... it kills immersion and isn't the case in te2013 ; sweet spot hitting was crucial but it seems it's no more important now?
2- the referee score voice is still horrendous, you should hire a professional voice guy on a freelancer website. Shouldn't cost a lot to make his spell a few figures such as 15 all...
3- the legs of the players are way too short compared to the bodies which are too wide... Not a single atp player looks like that
4- the overall physics of the ball seems a bit weird and off compared to te2013... which was absolutely perfect.

Sorry to say that but TE4 seems like a regress / stagnation instead of a progress in the current state.

2 things I'd like to add:
5- a good point: it seems the acceleration looks faster than before... Sometimes in te2013 you just hit acceleration all the time because the normal shot was useless. For te4 I think the normal shot should become the te3's acceleration, and the acceleration must become a true dangerous shot but with more requirement in terms of positioning and sweetspot to avoid the UE.
6- a bad thing: no real gameplay innovation such as the possibility to change the side of your shot at the very last time (when you charge your shot and aim at left, it would be great to have a mirror button to suddenly aim at right)... or a possibility to really hit the baseline when you want to aim for it (we don't see any deep UE in the videos).

yes agree!
in te2013 i just spam the acceleration shot as there is literally no risk when returning the serve. i never use the normal shot, only topspin and acceleration

I quite agree.

First, the acceleration shots are in my opinion too easy to make, and above all much too punitive, either for us or for the opponent.

The services are much too fast. All the statistics sometimes seem overestimated, especially for the best players in the world.

I started a match between two AIs and lowered the service statistics to around 75%. I think I even lowered the precision even more, because the balls are too often close to the lines (However I'm not sure it's very useful :fear: ).

On the game, I have the impression that the exchanges are much too short, in particular because of these acceleration shots which seem to me badly calibrated. On this match between the two AIs, I put their forehand and backhand statistics at around 90 or 95%, because in return I lowered their attack gauge to a minimum (the one directly controllable in play to minimize the number of acceleration shots). To simplify, it was mainly normal shots (or sliced) and suddenly the exchanges became more interesting.

Compared to TE 2013 (I didn't play this one, but I watched a lot of gameplays), there was a gain in realism with a game much less "ping pong", but as said above , some things are wrong, and I think it would be effectively a good thing that normal shots become TE 2013 acceleration shots (reworked of course).

It's good that the accelerations are "faster", but they have to become much more difficult to do.

Besides, I find that energy is not very useful. Indeed, the exchanges have become so short that the players have time to recover between each point, rare are the points where we have the possibility to use of energy, because either the opponent put us several meters from the ball, or it's the opposite because of the problem of the acceleration shots in this game. Tactically, I find it less interesting, consequently.

I believe that we must have patience.

There is still a lot of time and @manutoo will improve things.

Today the game has much to improve.

There are hardly any rallies. Winning strokes are all in the game. It doesn't look like a real tennis match.

The physics of the ball is very improvable.

But this is an alpha. It would be unfair to value the gameplay right now.

On the other hand @manutoo there are many players on my list of friends who are leaving tennis elbow to go play another game of tennis on PC.

This means that a new version of tennis elbow is necessary.

We all trust you @manutoo. I do not doubt that you are creating a great game.
