On a side note, here are 2 shirts I created for the rest of the season. I believe they will be the outfits worn by Gasquet post-US Open.

METZ (250)
The start of the indoor hard court stretch. Seeded no. 1
R1: BYE
R2: Albot W 6/4 6/4
QF: Hoang (WC) W 6/0 6/2
SF: Monfils (4) W 6/2 6/2
F: Tiafoe (7) W 6/3 6/2
Points won: 250
Rank: 5 (+0)

Recap: A terrific run. No sets dropped en route to a 3rd title of the year. To be honest, being the top seed I was hoping to clinch the title but never did I expect it to be this easy. Especially after a challenging first match against Albot, 1 break in each set was the difference between him and me. He was hugging very nicely the baseline and gave me a hard time. But from that match, it was a sweet ride to the trophy. A bagel against young French wildcard Antoine Hoang then a straight-sets dismissal of Monfils under an hour. Wow! Well, I guess you never know what to expect against Gael, but he clearly wasn't at his best. Title match against Tiafoe, I knew I was going to make it somehow. Had to weather a storm as he came back from 5-0 down in the opener to force me to serve it out on the second attempt. The second set was routine.
Well, a great way to erase the memory of that painful US Open quarterfinal. Now, we're off to China to build some momentum ahead of the 3 big tournaments coming soon: Shanghai, Paris, and hopefully London.

CHENGDU (250)
Seeded no. 2
R1: BYE
R2: Sousa (LL) W 6/0 6/4
QF: Kyrgios (6) W 7/6(5) 6/3
SF: Herbert (14) W 6/1 6/4
F: Nadal (1) L 6/4 6/2
Points won: 150
Rank: 5 (+0)

Recap: The unbeaten run comes to an end eventually. But a good run though. Straight-sets all the way to the final, which included a tough quarterfinal win over Kyrgios. Winning the 1st set was crucial as it gave me the edge to close out the match. That opening set was very very tight, no breaks of serve. Managed to win the tiebreak. Then in the semis, Herbert's serve and volley didn't cause me too much trouble apart from going down 0-3 at the start of the 2nd set, a small hiccup that I was able to retrieve. The final was a tough match. My only regret is not having taken the many opportunities I got throughout the match, that is 10 break points and only 2 converted. Part of the explanation is that I didn't go for enough agression on those few important points, the other part is that he raised his game when it mattered most. Nadal broke me at 4-5 in the 1st set and then rolled in the 2nd set to take the title after 1h30min on court. Overall, I'm satisfied with this run. It took the World no. 3 to stop me. Next: Tokyo or Beijing

TOKYO (500)
Top seed.
R1: Murray L 6/2 6/7(5) 6/2
Points won: 0
Rank: 5 (+0)

Recap: Oops, I didn't see this coming. My first opening match exit at a tournament this season. Tough match to lose but quite logical in a way. I wasn't playing at my best and struggled to find a rhythm against such great defending from Murray. He was playing really well, kind of like when we met at the US Open but even better I would say. The key was the start of the match for me. Got off to a slow start by getting broken in the opening game. That gave a him a lot of momentum all throughout the match. He was very agressive creating most of the points with sharp angles. He was serving and returning very well also. Gave me a hard time in a lot of my service games.
First set was a blast for him, a wreck for me. The way I started the second set wasn't promising also, got broken early. But I managed to mount a comeback and take the lead on serve for the first time in a set. At 5-4 and 6-5 for me on his serve on both occasions, I managed to create myself a few set points but he saved them all. A tiebreak ensued and I got it. Third set was me leaking errors on the important points, similar to the 1st set. Murray, ranked at no. 55, closed out the match with a backhand return cross-court winner. Vintage Murray!
Well, overall that was totally not expected but still content with the situation. I am still in the top 5 of the Rankings. And ready for the penultimate Masters tournament of the year before Paris.

SHANGHAI (1000)
Penultimate Masters event of the year. Seeded no. 3
R1: BYE
R2: Auger-Aliassime L 6/3 6/7(5) 6/1
Points won: 10
Rank: 7 (-2)

Recap: Ouch! Another tough defeat and back-to-back early exits. This is my third consecutive defeat. Well, Felix was playing really well, very solid from the baseline and quite agressive from both wings. He was serving bombs as well. It was a really tough match for me. All was well until he broke me at 2-2 in the 1st set and it was enough to steal a one-set lead. The second set was tighter, I got an early break to lead 4-1 but he came right back. Had to win it in a tiebreak. Well, from there I don't understand what happened. I had a lot of momentum after levelling the match but he just rolled and destroyed me. I managed to only scrape off a game in the deciding set as he scored a big upset in the tournament.
Overall, I must say this was a nightmare of a draw. To play the World no. 27 in your first match of a Masters event as the third seed is terrible. But yeah, I guess it happens. The worse part is my ranking drop. I'm gonna have to work hard and get some wins if I want to make it into the year-end Finals in London. It's going to be a tense end to the year. I was thinking of taking a couple of weeks off until Paris and London but due to this unexpected turn of events, I will have to play some tournaments as a lead-up to the Paris Masters. Starting from Antwerp.

ANTWERP (250)
Top seed.
R1: BYE
R2: Reuter W 6/1 6/2
QF: De Greef (WC) W 6/0 6/1
SF: Schwartzman (3) L 7/5 6/1
Points won: 90
Rank: 7 (+0)

Recap: Not a great run. Two easy matches in the opening stages before miserably falling to the World no. 20. He just dominated in every department and kept putting pressure. Well, not satisfied with the week here, especially because my ranking didn't move. But looking ahead there are 2 big tournaments remaining for me. Full focus onto Paris and London (hopefully, since I haven't sealed my spot yet)

PARIS (1000)
Penultimate tournament of the season. Seeking to build some momentum ahead of the grand finale in London.
Seeded no. 6
R1: BYE
R2: Chardy (WC) W 6/2 6/3
R3: Herbert W 6/4 6/1
QF: Wawrinka (14) W 6/3 6/4
SF: Del Potro (9) W 6/4 7/6(6)
F: Nishikori (5) L 6/3 4/6 7/6(5)
Points won: 600
Rank: 7 (+0)

Recap: A dream run that ends in a cruel tiebreak. Nice way to settle in the tournament by playing 2 fellow compatriots. Managed to get some comfortable wins before a tougher road ahead. Very happy with the way I handled the quarterfinal against Stan, I was dominating the play in all departments which is a positive thing. In the semis, I knew I had a chance since Del Potro had just beaten Nadal in the quarters. He was playing agressive tennis and serving well so it made it a tough match. Very happy to get it done in straights though. Then, the final with a familiar opponent across the net. The one who tore me apart back in January for my first defeat of the season beat me once again. This time I made life harder for him. Very close first 2 sets with a break in each proving to be sufficient to make the difference. A tense deciding set with a very dramatic ending: it went all the way in the tiebreak to 5-4 before I made two costly errors including my second double fault of the match, that turned the match in his favour. A tough way to end a great week.
Overall, very satisfied with the way this week in Paris went. Totally unexpected. Very nice to build some momentum and gain confidence ahead of the final tournament of what has been a memorable season. Let's try and make it even better by finishing on a high.
Next: the Finals in London

LONDON TOUR FINALS
Final tournament of the season. Huge satisfaction to make it to the top 8 and qualifiy for this very special event.
ROUND ROBIN
Match 1: Federer (2) L 7/6(3) 2/6 6/3
A positive start to the tournament. Taking a set off the top seeded player in the group is a great thing. My only regrets are not having made a better start to the deciding set, as he was able to control the end of the match comfortably. Also disappointed about the tiebreak in the 1st set, he just raised his level when it mattered most. That's what Federer does, time and time again. Such a good frontrunner. Just missed out on an outrageous start, which is a little painful.
Match 2: Anderson (4) W 7/5 3/6 6/4
Another 3-setter, but this time a first win. Very happy with the way I dealt with this match. I handled and took care of my serve which was crucial against such a big server. The only little stain in my performance came midway through the 2nd set which allowed him to level the match by serving it out. But I was able to raise my level and bounce back to take the win. As expected, it was a very different match with the first one, as rallies were shorter and his serve was booming (15 aces).
Match 3: Raonic (6) W 6/3 6/4
Coming into this match, I knew a win would make me pass to the semis almost certainly. So I knew exactly what I needed to do. And job done. Comfortable win in the end. An early break in each set was enough as he really struggled on the return, so I was able to take advantage of that and close out my service games without too much trouble. As expected, he served really well but he dropped it 2 loose service games and I was very happy to take profit of that, which was very important. The strategy was pretty clear, I was assaulting his backhand as it was clearly the weaker part of his game. His forehand was solid, but exploiting his backhand side meant more free points.
So, Raonic had lost his 2 previous matches so that cleared him out of contention for semi-final berths. And shockingly, Kevin Anderson beat Federer to claim his spot in the last 4. That meant that Federer was out. Same for Djokovic, who lost 2 matches. What a shock!

SEMI-FINAL
Nadal (3) L 6/2 6/1
Well, no need to extend the debrief too much here. The scoreline says it all. Clear domination from start to finish from Rafa. The only satisfaction for me was claiming that 1 game in the second set by breaking his serve. But he broke me 6 times in the whole match. He was unplayable, crushed me from the baseline totally. I tried to mix things up a little by throwing in some serve and volleying and dropshots but he handled it very well.

In the end, Nadal went on to beat Anderson in straights in the final to claim his first title ever at the year-end finals.
Overall, a good run for me. Finishing the season on a high with this run. 2 wins for 2 losses against top 8 opposition? I'll take it.

SEASON REVIEW
Well, time to sum it up.
Overall, I had a blast playing the season with Richard Gasquet. And my objectives were met.
My main goal was to crack the top 10 and play the Finals in London at the end of the year. With a year-end rank of 7, both these objectives were met. And I got a first Masters 1000 title which exceeds my expectations. The only little thing that's a little disappointing is my performance at Grand Slam events: my best was QF which I had hoped could be SF. Especially at Roland Garros.
Well, all this to say that I will continue playing seasons mode with other players at difficulty level Incredible 4. For those who have been interested in what I have done with Gasquet so far, stay tuned
