Game Balance Problems with Top Spin, Drop Shot, Lob, etc...

Postby S.Williamz » 15 Feb 2010, 20:27

After another pathetic attempt to succeed on clay using no spin against a spin player I think something needs to be done...playing on clay is pure dread and torture and I'm sure I speak for a lot of players. Players who don't hit huge topspin should have a proper chance on clay. RIght now the only possibility is to put a lot of spin and hit the endless rallies against the spinners which is not fun in any way.

Also the topspin simply pushes you back way too much, it's impossible to take the ball early so the spinner has more time to recover, plus somehow it's much harder to hit the lines against spin than againt normal shots, typically I won't even attempt to hit lines against spin because I error too often. My shots just are completely powerless and actually it's a mistake to hit acceleration because it's much more attackable for the opponent than spin.

The spin continues to be out of control. :?

i completely agree with this the spin has too much power and it has a huge effect on players who are used to hitting had(which is 95% of all TE players

Ok, this is infact a great post. I had the same problem and I agree that it's harder to get close to the lines against spinners...It's kind of insane lol...

Ok, topspin doesn't need to be "stopped." Topspin shots just shouldn't be as fast as non-topspin shots. I thought it was fine before this new build.

It very much needs more work. It's too heavy, and difficult to attack. It wasn't fine before this new build and hasn't been fine in a long time.

omg u are so pathetic have u seen who is complaining? baseliners + ask tati cornet he knows how to play on clay he can take ball early go to net and destroy u HE KNOWS HOW TO BUILD THE POINT UP WHICH IS NEEDED ON CLAY IVE HEARD IT BILIONS OF TIMES i can name bunch of players who knows how to do that instead of expecting u can hit winners all the time so stop complaining. should i complain about freaking spin on other surfaces? cause that is unrealistic aswell then besides having 0 spin hiting that flat as u guys do shouldnt be possible going long line when somebody hits a slice and i have complained alot and made my topic but i didnt get any fix i just played with what the problem was and made it work and here i am now with the 2h bh winning tourneys so reconsider what u have posted before u try ruining someones game

Take a chill pill Mr.Schmith...we can discuss in a civilized manner, no need for personal insults. God.
The problem with spin is that it might be fun(if you enjoy that type of play) when you play against someone who DOESN'T use spin but when the power baseliner player gets tired of their far too ineffective game they might as well switch to spin. And then we have this incredibly boring and unstimulating game. Don't you agree? If you don't then you have never experienced how dull it is because you can frustrate and annoy people to death with your spin. You say don't ruin my game but you have already ruined mine. All I want is some decent balance, also on clay courts. It's ridiculous to suggest I start volleying on clay, I mean not only is that a very uncertain game and chances of success are minimal compared to the spin player, I also don't want to volley all the time.

u may have a point everyone using spin but if we change that then we need to change lots of things fx the fast surfaces i think and u should be able to put presure on the spin balls but i have discovered that the 2h bh can put presure taking ball early and everything tho the forehand should be fixed aswell. But if u make that change i still wanna see an advantage maybe less than before but still great and u have the same on IH

I hit good angles all the time and they have zero effect, actually less effect than against a non spin player. Also putting a little spin only makes my shots even less effective as it slows the game down it takes away the little pressure I can create. So won't work.

Also funny is that spin players often are the more dominant and aggressive side lol. The first moments of a rally go with the power baseliner hitting some hard shots and the spin player defending but the power baseliner is having very hard time aiming at the lines because of the spin, and don't want to take huge risks so they hit kinda safe accelerations. Then they run out of accelerations and the spin player starts using theirs and dominate the rally, however the opponent doesn't have spin so they can't defend equally and are hit through. Or maybe the power player mixes up accelerations and normal shots, however here is the same case, the spin player uses acceleration when the opponent hits normal shots and again they dominate. Because the opponent doesn't have defensive spin the spin player can hit winners easier than the power players. Imo this is so upside down.
