I think the counter stat could use some work...I mean, what does it do exactly? I've read the document but the fact that harder balls are easier with more counter isn't apparent in any clear way. I've tried everything from 0 to 100 counter for a long time and played players with 0 to 100 and there just isn't any visible differences. I really don't like the vagueness and pointlessness of this stat. I think it should either be removed, or it's effect should be clearly visible in play or it should be made to do somethings else less vague. I vote for the removal of it's current effect.

Its really great to have a counter. Counter make the player much much moore agressive when hitting the ball. And i think its making faster footwork. So i dont think its a good idea to remove counter

Hi Manu, sorry I didn't get back to you. I was on vacation. I will try to make a recording and get that to you. With the latest build (46), the drop shot frequency by the CPU is a bit lower, but it is still way too much unfortunately.
I would also like to mention a few other gameplay things for the future. I think the non-accelerated short strike should be removed. I think it's too slow (but better than what it used to be at the beginning of TE2009). Or if not removed, have the ability for the CPU to hit this with less frequency. On a lot of short shots that the CPU should hammer, he hits a soft short strike instead. Also, I think the normal strike should have a little more speed to it.
When hitting a slice volley at net, the slice effect is way too much. The slice should go through the court more, but it tends to bounce up vertical too much, kind of like it is hitting a wall. It should keep going through the court more.

No it does not make faster footwork and I can play just as aggressive with 0 counter. That stat just annoyes me. lol
It should do something more obvious or be removed, so I wouldn't constantly have to think whether or not I should put points in it and end up trying to ignore the whole stat altogether. :?

SO i just played a serve and volleyer and with the decrease in lobs theres almost not a chance that you can get the ball pass or over him now so what's the point of even having the lob there if it's not going to help. Reality when looking at doubles lobs by all teh players are good not just 1 out of 10 maybe get within a foot of the baseline. Something really needs to be done about the lob because right now against serve and volley if u don't pass the first time then you pretty much screwed! The game is really starting to center around if your an serve and volleyer.

Brad1981, ok, I'm waiting for ur .dmo ...

DegrasMan,
- Gameplay : lobs done when the opponent is not at net are now less precise & often a bit shorter
so when u're actually lobbing ur opponent, there's no change.

Hey Manu

Good work with the adjustment of the CPU's groundstroke swing preparation...I really notice the difference, as I too, thought that especially the 1 H backhand swing was a lot faster than my player's swing...I can tell the difference in the forehand swing as well...well done!

I don't quite understand the part about the "separate leg animation" or at least I don't know what to look for...could you please explain...

It seems the "scrolling" camera mode is no longer there, but instead there's "still"(or was it there before?).

Hi Manu, here is a .dmo recording of the first 3-4 points of just a warm-up rally. CPU hits 1 drop shot each rally.

Better version, but still the CPU hits a lot of drop shots... yesterday I took control of Nadal against Grosjean (CPU) and Grosjean did a lot of errors... why? Because he tried to do millions of drop shots, but the ball came to him very high (I use the Nadal shot) and he failed.

btaylor, before when the player was still running when starting to prepare his strike, the leg animation was restarting from 1st frame, not from the current frame. Thus, it was looking like the player was doing a hesitating step backward then forward again. It was smoothed by the animation system, so it was not too much noticeable if u didn't have a close look at it. Now, the leg animation doesn't restart anymore but goes on from the last frame just before the strike preparation began.

S.Williamz, Scrolling cam is only available & needed for 4:3 display. Look like u got yourself a 16:10 widescreen & doesn't need the scrolling anymore..? ;)

Brad1981 thanks for the .dmo... & Doh, I thought this was a tuning problem, but actually there was a small bug...
It's fixed now, but I wonder if the drop shot ratio has been too much lowered. Does 1 dropshop out of 12 strikes sounds realistic ? (when the opponent player stands several meters after the baseline, and did a normal or top spin strike)

Manutoo, the save match and exit bug needs a major patch. It is not saving scores properly now and resets the score when one exits. It happens nearly every match so it can't be tournament specific.

Hey Manu

Yeah, in the previous builds it looks kinda like the player when running would actually sort of skip twice on the same leg rather than cross over each time to the other leg...is that it?
