Fed1,
wrong topic, so moved there => viewtopic.php?p=279177#p279177 .

Zeussowitz,
1) It's possible to Mod the scoreboard in TE4 like it was done in TE2013 (and likely more easily with the new support for complicated calculations) ; however, I really cannot do a system where it's possible to Mod the scoreboards without using scripting (it'd take me too much time :fear: )

2) I hope one day to make the TEM2 management available in TE4 for people who will have bought both games, so people wanting deeper management should be satisfied... :)

In the matches played in the 2nd week of Wimbledon, the balls bounce more on the eroded parts of the grass. Can we see this on te4?

scarecrow,
it would not be very hard to do, but in terms of gameplay for a video game, I don't think it's really interesting. :fear:

Hello!
I was choosing a forehand animation for Federer and I noticed that there are 2 versions of his forehand in the game and 2 of his backhand.
I was wondering: wouldn't it be cool to be able to make a "pack" of these players' animations (if there are several) and to be able to play the different animations randomly during the game to add a "real life" touch? :D

Hi, for immersion it would be cool to have stats pop up between points or games. 1st serve %, Winners, Unforced errors? Like on tv. Would be cool if there's an option to switch this on and off, so if people don't like it, they don't have to use it?

+1 Good idea! I also always missed it.

When you pause the game the massive "Give Up" option is auto selected. I think that should be a "Resume Game" button, and the give up option should be smaller and somewhere else, I don't want to misclick and give up!

risiblewilbury,
if you click on "Give Up", a pop-up with "No" selected appears, so there are low chances you'll give up without wanting it... :blackeye:

TimovieMan wrote:Some of these have been mentioned already but even then I'd like to +1 them. :)

- (Optional) cutscenes during matches (like the warm-up or the coin toss, or just the break between sets and side changes). That could add another layer of realism, even if it's mostly fluff. Since not everyone is going to be fond of this (or wants to click it away each time it happens), this should be entirely optional, perhaps as a setting.

- Related to the above: court fly-overs with the camera during breaks (like when the set summaries are displayed). Mainly so we can see more of the 3D stadiums in the game - something we don't usually see with the most common camera angles used in playing the game.

- Variable top spin percentage. The best players can control the amount of top spin they add to a ball, adding more top spin on clay courts and less top spin on grass courts. Now we're limited to the same top spin amount for *all* court types, only being able to change the top spin amount in training, at the cost of valuable training points. Maybe we could have a +/- 10% slider, where a player with a 40% base top spin has the option to set it anywhere between 30% and 50% during a match?
Maybe even go further with this and add "spin control" as a possible talent, where one star would mean a +/- 20% slider and two stars even a +/- 30% slider? Just thinking aloud here...

- Making the "tournament selection" screen available at all times in the tour info. Now we only see this screen when selecting a tournament to play for the next week:

Image

Since that's the only screen where we see what tournaments lie in the immediate future, it could be useful to always have this on hand in the tour info.

- Booking tournaments in advance. Selecting a tournament a month away now immediately skips to that tournament, skipping weeks at a time. If it were possible to "book" that tournament without skipping ahead, we could continue playing a tournament each week, but would be warned when trying to play a tournament that would "clash" with the one we already had booked. For instance, if we have another tournament already booked for the next week, and we have an early exit in the tournament this week, we could see a "You can't enter the qualification for tournament X this week, because tournament Y is booked for next week". Another example: booking the qualification round for a Grand Slam tournament and trying to qualify for an ATP500 tournament the week before could also give a message that actually succeeding in qualifying for the ATP500 tournament would clash with the Grand Slam qualification round that's played the following week.

I assume the "booking" of tournaments is something that's in the works? The tournament selection screen has a "booked tournaments" filter in the game now:

Image

- Showing multiple entries per week on the activity screen if multiple tournaments were played. Now we only get to see one entry each week, but if we were defeated in the first round of a tournament and entered the qualifying stage for a new tournament that same week, only that first round exit would be shown. The info on the activity screen would be more complete if both entries were visible.

And before I sound critical of the game, I'd just like to add that Tennis Elbow is hands down THE best tennis game out there (and I've played practically all of them). Not a single other title comes close to the awesomeness that is Tennis Elbow on the things that matter (realistic career modes, challenging online play and especially fun, addictive and balanced gameplay)! Hats off to manutoo! :applause:

Agree 100% with adding these features.

Couple of other features/suggestions:

If you decide to play a 1 set match (e.g. qualifying), be nice if you can show simulated match outcome for remaining sets. And would be nice to have sim to end rather than just quit a match

Need option to simulate match from beginning

I played doubles tourney and got invite to main draw in next event. I accepted. I planned to play singles in next event too. Not only could I not see the next event details screen but it went straight to first match. No option to enter singles. Need to be able to access the calendar before every tourney and preferably during any tourney to book ahead.

Players head turning look great when deployed occasionally, but you should not have heads turning in doubles when your partner is serving.

Volleys are off in TE4. I couldn't figure out what was off at first. The arm should be close to body but in the game the arms are too wide. That's not the case in TE3. Also..the volleyer should step forward at angle but in game they are largely flat footed.

On the HUD showing the seed of the players.
Showing the match score (like TE3) after each game for a few seconds

Is it possible to use hotkeys to switch between different camera settings during a match? I enjoy using the new third person camera setting when I am serving, but strongly prefer the camera angle to be higher and further back when returning. Obviously I can't justify going into the menu to switch between every game during online matches, but it would be great to be able to adjust these settings with a keyboard shortcut.

Maybe this can already be done and I'm just a noob! If not, that's my suggestion, although I admit it is probably a niche request.

knich,
1) If you want to simulate your matches, set your player to CPU instead of Human ; I don't understand the point to simulate the end of the match if you don't want to change the outcome, though (I mean except showing a fake score in the draw :blackeye:)
2) Doubles bug => need Bug Report
3) it wasn't in TE2013 : it was added by Mods ; so hopefully, some Modder will create some scoreboards for TE4 as well.

acacacacademy,
no, sorry, it's really not that useful and could bring maintenance issues.
However, you may be able to do that with a Macro program that simulates keypresses.

Thanks for the response. I totally understand.

The real solution to my conundrum is to practice more with the third person camera setting and git gud at returning with it  I love how much better it allows me to see the trajectory and height of the ball.

Can there be a way to have more than 36? (I don't remember the exact number) save slots for training club? There was a mod that did this in Tennis Elbow 2013 but would be nice if it was part of the base game. :applause:

Something like 90+ would be nice to be able to simulate a tour. Thank you!
