A little serious!

In addition with the talented TE community, no need for expensive readiness

I like the game and I have pre-purchased TE 4 to support its development.

However, development is clearly delayed and nothing seems to indicate that times will accelerate soon.

In my opinion, this will unfortunately generate that at the time of its launch it already looks graphically outdated and can hardly compete with other obvious market alternatives, which may even bring out a new version for when TE 4 sees the light.

The logic of video games seems to indicate the need to partner with developing companies, even if they are not the bigger in the market, or at least with other workers and entrepreneurs in the field. This would allow a faster production, as well as publicity and insertion of the game that allows a greater diffusion of the same.

In the current state, it has been impossible for me to convince friends to pre-purchase the game and support the project, and I've seen during this month how many bought the one that came out recently and are playing it a lot, despite its limitations.

juanabolche,
read here : viewtopic.php?p=252097#p252097 .

And I'll add : TE4 was never destined to be graphically in par with recent games. TE2013 was visually in par with 2003~2005 games. For TE4, I said for the visual quality I was aiming at something like Top Spin 3 (released in 2008) or maybe Top Spin 4 (2011), but with PBR rendering technic (common in games since ~2015). So TE4 will be more in par with 2013~2015 games. And it will still be mostly destined to real-life tennis fans. People putting visuals before simulation gameplay will never be much interested in TE. :blackeye:

@Manu ,
I'm joking of course

I totally agree with this, graphics are not everything!
And when you see the competition at the moment, I don't worry about TE 4

yiph2,
I don't have much divination powers, but as it seems tennis games don't sell very well in a general way, it's unlikely for one to get really big funding like current AAA games... :fear:

Except nadal (now always play with top spin) all players perform a different movement to rewalize a top spin hit. Could you include a different animation for hits with top spin?

Im not sure if this has been mentioned before ,but i really would like to see the play styles be more balanced. Right now, some styles *cough*Defender*cough* are way overpowered, and some styles such as Power Baseliner have been marginalized to oddities. Styles like Puncher and Varied excist just in the description since literally no one actually uses them to play.

Mingus,
would you have a video showing such kind of difference ? I wonder if you're referring to the little wrist movement some players do when they do a short passing shot, or maybe some slower defensive shot.

T-Jackson,
once the online will be in place, feedback about balance will be very welcome. (ie: I can't balance stuff if they people don't tell me what is overpowered or underpowered ;) )

Yes! Especially when they do a passing shot You can see a example in this video ( in 0:10, 0:30 and 0:35):

Mingus,
ok, so like for most animation relating things, there's no plan about this specific point, but it's probably something I could at least do as an option in the engine so the Modders could create such anims. :)

Also the volleys weren't at all human-like in tennis elbow 2013.. I would expect at least like 2 animations for smash(one that just smashes, and one that waits for the bounce or something+a bonus could be added, the thing that Llodra did, misses the smash on purpose to play a dropshot), 2 animations for backhand smash, the usual one that everyone does like fed, and the one whem Fed lobbed someone from a backhand smash, a couple of net play animations as in the backhand slicey volley+players trying to reach the ball on the net and either failing or catching it, and ofc the drive volleys(regular forehand volleys just have an animation of pushing the ball, so yeah, the drive ones).

Will you allow different animations for different serves? A kick serve motion is slightly different than a flat one's.

victorbicudo1,
for the part of the animation after the hit, it's possible. Before, it's complicated because the user can decide at any time how to do his serve spin.
