Tennischampion, you don't have to download a SubBuild to play online ; download it only if you want to enjoy the Changes / Bug Fixes...

Tennischampion, open ur eyes & read what is written before : there's only 1 SubBuild, which is the latest update (other updates are Build ) ; and I doubt the online mode forced you to download it. You may have been informed of this new version when you started the game with the possibility to download it, but likely not when you connected to the online mode.

Tennischampion

After a new Build or SubBuild, when you load the game and it says "looking for a new version"...
If a new version is indeed available, and it says "a new version is available on line, view changelog" and "download now", DON'T click on "view change-log"... simply bypass that, click on "OK" and go on with whatever you intended to do...be that play against the CPU, play on-line, or navigate to the training club, character sheets, World Tour or whatever...you don't have to download the new Build/SubBuild if you don't want to...

I needed to download the game again when you added the SubBuild. I played some matches before, closed the game and when I tried to play online again the game asked me to download it again, and it had happened before to me with other SubBuilds
Tour Mod.

If you don't send me a PM or DM, you might see your chances reduced. Inform me about anything that might have gone on with your matches BEFORE deadlines, otherwise, decisions won't be changed.

-Possible bug:
I've downloaded and installed Build 41 and then the latest from December 7th, and I seem to be having a problem that I don't recall having in versions 1.0c or b.
I use an Xbox 360 controller, and sometimes when an opponent's hard shot is hit to my right side (I'm a RH player,by the way), my character kind of slides slightly to the right, but not quickly enough to return the shot. I thought it might be the controller, but I tried one of my other ones and one of my neighbor's and the same thing happens. It doesn't do it all the time, but it seems to happen most on a critical point (or at least to me :) ). It can be the 2nd or 3rd hit, or it can be the 9th or 10th hit of the point- it's not a consistent bug.
I don't know if you heard of this happening to anyone else, but, like I said, I don't remember this behavior in previous versions.

P.S. Thanks for fixing the service in this build :applause:

Ok, I checked the SubBuild problem ; it happens when u're not connected after have entered the Network menu. When this happens, your "Detected IP" is "0". Exiting & re-entering should make it work & avoid to be forced to download the latest SubBuild. The bug will be fixed in next SubBuild, but u'll still have the message with the current SubBuild if the connection failed when entered at 1st.

SC Tom, sorry, I'm not sure to understand what is exactly the problem...
The "slide" speed should be always the same, except if you're too close of the ball, in such case, your player will stop faster. This behavior is only activated when you have already pressed the buttons to prepare your strike.
If you prepare your strike too early, you'll miss the ball anyway coz your player doesn't run automatically, he just ends his current run automatically.
And I did a few tries, and it didn't seem the slide speed was too slow...

Maybe I should say "glide" instead of "slide." Say I'm at the base line near the center line of the court, and my opponent hits a hard ball to my right side into the corner. If I try to run over to get in position to return it, sometimes my player will just kind of glide over, like doing a sidestep slowly. Before I can even get there, the ball has gone by me, but if I had been able to move over normally, I would have gotten to the ball easily to make a return on it. Like I said, it's an intermittent problem, and it hasn't cost me a match yet, but I have been broken a few times because of it (over a fairly long time span; not in the same game). I'd try to do a video capture or series of stills if it happened often enough, but I could probably fill my hard drive waiting for the time it happens.
You may be right, though; maybe I'm pressing one of the strike buttons early without realizing it until it's too late.
Thank you for your reply.

SC Tom, ok I understand better... I think CC reported several times a similar issue... So far, I never noticed it during my tests. If someone records his matches & get this problem in the 1st few points, I'd be glad to check the .dmo file...

Verdasco Fan, the last update is from 1 week ago. The game checks for new version only once per week, that's maybe why u got the new version notification only recently...

Yeah, that issue of the ball going by and your player not moving at normal speed is a killer. There is not much that you can do, as you are pressing the right buttons, but you just are not moving as you should be. Well, I don't think that the .dmo will show the issue the same way that it is experienced. I mean, in the online game, the feeling you have is one of helplessness as you are doing the right things, but it isn't working. In the replay, I think that it will appear as though you just missed a ball that you could have returned, and I don't think that the same "gliding" or whatever that you experience will be evident. However, the next time that this happens with me, I'll try to note which of my recordings it is and
post it.

Later I will start recording some of my matches externall with a digital video recorder (that won't induce lag). Then, maybe we'll have an actual recording of what I experienced (not meant as a slight against the .dmo recording, as it is a great feature and creates small files which are easy to manage).

Regards.

"Helplessness" isn't the emotion I feel when I lose a game ;)

What is .dmo recording? How do I start it, and is it editable? If so, I could record then edit to point I'm having this problem. Or not?
Thanks!
