Using special symbols or characters (or even "fonts")

Postby CC » 21 Oct 2009, 05:13

ManuTOO,

Is there a way to use a special character, symbol, or font as part of the message when hosting? I have seen others use this, but I don't know how to do it. For example, I created some text in Notepad that was in a font that creates "mirror" text (the text is as if it were being viewed in a mirror); when I pasted this into the message box for hosting a game, it appeared as normal text.

Thanks!

Hello,

you cannot use custom font, but you can use extended character set... You can either press Alt key + Num pad key to get a special character (or a normal one).
For example, press left Alt key and keep it pressed while pressing 3 then 2 to get a space character. You can enter any number from 1 to 255 .
A program that shows an Ascii table will match most of characters available in the font used by the game.

ManuTOO,

:hello2: Thank you for the detailed answer. I knew about the ASCII characters, but I hadn't actually tried using them. My mistake. I appreciate the help. I'll try it out.
