Great Game!!!

Postby AB » 29 Jul 2009, 18:25

I bought this game last week and it is so addicitve, I just want to say what a great game this is.

I'm currently half-way through my 3rd year with my player and I am hovering around 80-90th in the rankings, that will drop soon though because I have lots of points from challenger tournaments to defend. I'm trying to make my way through the International series and higher levels but I usually come unstuck by the 2nd round. But I did make the 3rd round of Wimbledon, just narrowly losing to Roddick, I was gutted at the loss.

I just have one question, can you actually win a point direct from a drop-shot? Every time I play one it becomes a 50-50 chance of winning the point, either my opponent hits it for a winner or they set me up for a winner. It's my only tactic against defenders and baseliners in the top 100, although I still end up on the wrong end of a result anyway.

Yep, I agree that its a great game! What difficulty is the CPU in your world tour?

I don't think I've ever done a drop shot winner against the CPU. Should definitely be changed.

I've only had it a week but I am up to junior 10. I feel like I am cheating myself if I make it easier against certain CPU players :P

But I'm at the stage where I either win comfortably or lose pathetically, more of the latter  there does'nt seem to be close run matches at the moment.

Hello,

you can do drop shop winner at the net, and maybe on short ball when standing a bit inside the baseline... After the baseline, it's not possible.

Hi, i just bought it yesterady and it's great...

I've got two questions..

1- How can i make long shots??they all fall in mid field

2- Is it possible to play a single game against Roger or Rafael without making the world tour?? And to play a tournament not in the world tour??

thks

greenice80,

1- you have to center the ball in your racket, and prepare your strike early to do longer shots.

2- you can't get the players from the World Tour in the Training Club, but you can create your own famous player almost easily and play against him...

They are possible, but very improbable-even from the half court service line.

Maybe it should be tweaked a little to make it easier to hit a clean drop shot winner when your player is well inside the court.

No, drop shots are already good enough in online play. Sure, make it a bit easier against the computer if you can do that, but don't let it affect online play.

I just about managed one today

I need to learn how to win on clay now, I lost 7-6 to this player and in the next tournament I sent him packing 6-0 on a hardcourt :applause:

I can't play online (Live in Australia so my ping is always 500+) so only play World Tour. Very hard to make a successful drop shot against CPU.

You can close the game at any time and it will be automatically saved.

I did'nt feel this needed a new topic but can I ask why defenders are so good in this game compared to other types of player?

All games with them become me sending them side to side until my acceleration shots run-out. They never hit errors which is ridiculous when I make them cover so much ground to return my shot.

I've just lost to a CPU player who's stats were in the 40%-50% compared to my player who is between 65%-70% but he got to everything and hit winners against me from silly angles.

To make things worse, the type of shots they hit against you mean you cannot see where they are going on screen, if you use the danger zone guide it means you can't see your player to return. Is there a camera angle that is further out?

I love the game and I would'nt have a problem losing because I would lower the difficulty but I can beat nearly every other player pretty easily, it seems as if there is no balance.
