LAN Problem..

Postby jesp8000 » 22 Jul 2009, 02:51

Hi Manutoo, first of all I would like to say thank you for creating such a wonderful game. I just purchased the TE2009 recently and really dont understand why the LAN connection seems not working. I know theres thread already about this but of what I know its not resolved yet. I tried to open port 4321 in my router too but still cannot connect. By the way, I have no problem joining online.

Hello,

if you're on LAN, you should have a Router coming into play.
Check that all games use the port 4321, create a game on 1 PC, and then do "Join Local Game" on the other PC. The Host should appear in the list. If it doesn't work, use the "Join Distant Game" and enter the local IP of the Host PC (not the Internet IP).

Thanks Manutoo. I found already the problem, I dont know if this is applicable to all router, but I didnt change anything on my router nor did any port forwarding. What I did was in the 2nd game/pc, instead of the default port 4321, I change it to 4322 and the first game/pc still have 4321. Then I let the first game/pc be the server and in the other game/pc with the 4322 port, I chose the "Join Remote Game" and putting this: 192.168.0.20:4321 as the IP address where 192.168.0.20 is my first pc IP address. Now me and my friend can play and enjoy the game. I hope this will help others with the same problem....Thanks manutoo...looking forward to future versions.
