Acceleration shot too fast

Postby Brad1981 » 28 May 2015, 06:58

I think the overall gameplay seems too fast and arcady, and I think this is due to the speed of the acceleration shot. I think either it should be reduced or have it so that it is very inaccurate. This is the most realistic tennis game I have ever played and have been playing it for over 10 years, but if the gameplay was slowed down a little to normal level, it would be even better. And this is due to the speed of the acceleration shot I think.

Hello,

with slower accelerations, it'd become much harder to make winner, so it'd require to lower run speed as well, and then the whole gameplay balance will be threw off and everything would need to be retuned... :fear:
Moreover, the actual average speed of the acceleration is relatively in par with the real tennis ; it probably could be even a bit more high, but as you said the precision & risk should be then reworked.
So all that is work for TEM2 & TE4..!

Not at all. It's even slower than real life. These guys don't understand how fast real tennis is.

Agree with Lucian. Even besides reality, gameplay wise, the game likely lacks of some better finisher shot vs. the quantity of safe shots/floaty slices defense can produce (in this regard i think that improving/enhancing the way the shoulder height acceleration behaves could be interesting, rendering it more situational vs. a pretty tiny fixed height range window could help a lot) => seconding Algo point about it here : viewtopic.php?p=205322#p205322. It really depends each other level of play regarding this aspect, when two good movers are involved, rallies can still be utterly long and frustrating, even with "slow" characters.

Maybe it is more bouncing too fast off the court, instead of the speed of the acceleration shot. Like it doesn't bounce high enough on the acceleration shots that makes to seem too fast.

if there's one thing i'm not all that satisfied about it has to be the acceleration shot. It's actually too slow. lol
