What level Junior do you play? Believe it or not, the Junior level is a hard difficulty for A novice.... practice makes perfect...

I play junior sublevel 10. I played about 20 hours so far and I feel like I do everything perfect. I hit the lines wit 200 kph serves and also play very hard and accurat in the rallies but I get just trashed, the opponents get everything and they do not even hit the lines when hitting winners. When the computer is at the net I feel like it is impossible to pass him. Perfect lobs, great passing attempts are all useless. And I just can't move quickly. At the beginning I thought I could improve sometime but now I do no more. I don't know a single thing I could do better, it always feels the matches are totally out of my hands, I get just shot off court every time always thinking there is nothing I could have done better.

When i first bought this game it took me about a month of solid playing nearly every day to get the hang of it properly. I would drop your level and then when you've cracked it, raise it back up.

I mostly press topspin + acceleration. What do the top guys press? BTW: Auto positioning at return still doesn't work despute doing exactly what is adviced.

Edit: Club computer just trashed me in straight sets. Just no chance..

Rusty96,
about Autopos, play against the CPU, and when it serves :
- before it starts to serve, press any strike button
- then press left ; if your player doesn't start to run to left, then you are correctly pressing a strike button
- don't release the strike button, keep it pressed all the time, and just look at what your player is doing (ie: do not try to actually return the serve)
- when the CPU serves, your player will start to move _slowly_ in direction of the ball ; this is the autopos triggering
- doing nothing else, usually, your player won't reach the ball and it'll be an ace (except if the serve was very close of your player)
So now, you may or may not get benefit from the autopos triggering, depending of your own reflexes, of what you like to look at during the serve, etc...

AutoPos does still not work. I still get smashed off court by everyone. I have no problem with losing but the problem is that I can mostly not even make a match out of it. I' m just a spectator how the opponent hits all the winner. Most sets take less than 5 min. Even when I hit a serve with more than 200 kph right on the line the opponents easily get them and directly hit return winners. I just don't know anything I could do better.

Rusty96,
on the return, when pressing a button, your player doesn't move _at all_ ..?
If yes, then post a .dmo, I'll have a look. (how to => topic5-4588.php )

I wouldn't say he doesn't move at all but he barely moves. Sometimes he doesn't move allthough the serve goes on a side line, sometimes he moves to the wrong side, sometimes he noves correctly. I understood it right that i have to press a strike button and when the ball gets hit by the opponent release the button and look where my payer moves,no?

1- if your player moves, even if barely, then it's working (he'd move more with the average AutoPos)
2- if the player moves in the wrong direction, post the .dmo and I'll check it (tell me on what score it happened)
3- you shouldn't release the button before you noticed where your player is moving ; you look then release, not the opposite

2015-02-12.20-04---Rusty-vs-house-0-6-0-2.dmo
2015-02-12.20-11---G.-vs-Rusty-6-0.dmo

In these matches autpos basically worked but the autopos move was so late that I had no chance to get the ball as it was already flying beyond my player.
In both matches i felt like I did everything perfect. I hit a couple of maximum power serves right on the line but the opponent returned them all, often immidiently hit a winner. In rallies I did very few errors despite going to the lines with 100% power shots all the time but the opponents got them all and hit winners like they would know before where i would place my shot. I feel like i do maximum shot power with maximum accuracy but I lost about last 15 online sets 0-6. I normally am good in video games, especially in tennis. In reality I have a very good tennis knowledge tactically but I have no clu how to be competetive even in this game. I feel like I do everything perfect but get trashed. It feels like all others would press different buttons.Maybe you can say me the problem with thes files, please?

I watched the G.-vs-Rusty-6-0.dmo , I didn't see any of "going to the lines with 100% power shots all the time".
What I saw is someone who barely can sustain rallies. You did 0 fault, though, so at least you got the basic of the controls correctly.
But it seems at this point you have very very low reflexes, and thus you have no chance to compete against a seasoned player.
I'm not sure why your reflexes are so low. Do you feel you see the ball clearly ? Maybe you could make it a bigger (in In-Game Menu -> Options).
You even run in the wrong direction on return of serves. Is it because you try to anticipate & guess wrong ?

The difference between TE and most other tennis games is that you have to work hard to learn how to run & position yourself. And as long as you didn't learn that, you can't hit consistently in the rallies.

So at this point you can't progress playing like that, it's just too hard for you. It's same than in real tennis, if your opponent is too strong, you get bashed and don't learn anything. So I'm going to quote myself :
You should really take it easy at 1st and take your time to learn the game. Play a while with the Danger & Aiming preview against the CPU, then only the Danger Zone still against the CPU, then play online with the original game (ie: not ITST Mod) so you'll still have the Danger Zone, and you'll also have more chance to find low skilled players (tennis isn't much fun when playing against someone a lot stronger than your). After 50 or 100 hours of this, you should be able to get back to ITST.

As long as you can't reach short ball when you stand far, you'll have to work on your reflexes and/or see the ball trajectory.

Your current goal should be to beat 6/0 the CPU at Club-10 level on the Blue-Green cement, with the CPU having 50% in all his skills and you having 75% in all your skills. When you do that, you raise 2 sublevels and give 5% more skills, so you try to beat the Junior-2 6/1 at 55%, then Junior-4 6/2 at 60%, then Junior-6 6/3 at 65%, then Junior-8 6/4 at 70%, then you should be able to compete against Junior-10 at 75% (even if you lose) and at this point you'll be ready for online mode without ITST..! (and after more training, you could go back to ITST)

Re: Serve-Return

My shots are not with maximum power? What am I doing wrong then? I thought the accelerration would cause the maximum power,no? ( I mostly play acceleration + top spin or acceleration + standard shot)
I also don't know why my reaction time is so slow in this game, normally my reflexes are really good. Maybeit is a problem that i play with my tv , so connected with hdmi cable, maybe that is an issue, do you have experience with something like that.
Yes, sometimes I guessed because I did not get the balls when waiting for an autopos move.
Beyond that even when i guess early and correctly I sometimes don't get the ball, especially on drop shots I never get them, despite being really early on the run but it looks like my player would move in slow motion.
You say i should not play with the itst nod at first. Why is it easier without? Do you mean with the skill percentages of cpu that thecpu is automatically on that percentage with a certain difficulty level or shall I put the ki skill percentage on that percentage AND play with for example club level?

BTW: I already played club, lost in straight sets...movement was the main issue there as well.

Did you check your TV for Input Lag ? ( => https://www.google.com/search?q=input%20lag%20tv )
If not, then a lot of your issues likely come from there. Most TVs have a Game Mode, so if you activate it, it should lower the input lag ; but depending of your TV, it may still have significant lag left. If it does, it destroys your chances to be competitive at TE (and any other game based on reflexes).
If you currently play with input lag, finding a way to remove it will likely make you play 2 or 3 times better instantly.

To do good accelerations, you need to be perfectly positioned left/right, and almost perfectly positioned up/down. You also need to prepare early enough so your precision will be better and your shot will be a bit more long.

You have to manually change the skills & the level + sublevel of the CPU. By default, in the unmodded game, the CPU has 50% in all its skills.

ITST is harder because :
- Autopos is on slow instead of average, which means you have to spend a lot of time on the final footsteps to be perfectly positioned, which means if you're not a master of positioning, your shots will be bad very often
- there's no Danger Zone, and thus it's harder to position perfectly left/right, and much much harder to position correctly up/down ; it's also harder to see when the ball is longer or shorter than usual (ie: harder to get dropshot)
- run speed & run acceleration & courts physics have been changed, slightly messing with your player handling, which means it's harder & longer to learn how to control him efficiently

According to official data input lag for my tv is 84 ms and in game mode 65 ms. Is that maybe the reason why I play so bad? Which lag maximum is there to play solid?

Anything higher than 50ms is really damaging ; it's like adding 1/20th of second or more to all your reflexes. Moreover, it will probably make you feel like the player movements are not much responsive and somewhat sluggish.
And if you want to be really competitive, the maximum acceptable is 20ms. At this rate, your player should feel fully responsive but you'll still have a little handicap when playing against someone with <5ms input lag (it might not have much people with this kind of input lag, as it seems it's only old CRT monitors which could achieve that).
