How to avoid receiving so many aces

Postby juanjo albertez » 10 Oct 2014, 19:44

Hello, everyone. I would like to ask how to improve my return in order to avoid my rivals hit an unbelieveable amount of aces. I usually play with Federer, and recently I played against Monaco on the Suzanne Lenglen court a three-set-match in Master 10 difficulty and he hit 28 aces!!! :o Yes, you read that right: 28 aces. I play with nguyen patch and have noticed that not only Monaco does hit such unrealistic number of direct services but also several other players who do not really have high servicing ability. We know Monaco is a good player and all. But guys, let's face it. The only way he would be able to hit almost 30 aces during any match on any surface would if he play againt my 93-year-old grandma. And even then, I would seriously doubt it. Is it a matter of autopositioning? I always set it on slow. Is there a way to improve my returning? Or maybe the only solution is to change my rivals ability?

Use average autpositioning (like on online Tour) and hold the button before the opponent serves. Then as the player moves in the correct direction marginally right after the serve is struck by your opponent (due to the autopos effect), release the button quickly (reflexes)...make 1 step...press the button again...boom :D

Good luck
