Tennis Elbow 2009 1.0a

General discussions about the 3rd edition of Tennis Elbow

If you have your topspin at a high enough percent, it never goes long.

Before it would occasionally fly long if you were roughly 20% and more the lower you went. It seems more like 30-40% now to avoid hitting it long at all.

Tog,

Are you referring to what happens sometimes when you run "wide" and your player miraculously "switches" from forehand to backhand or vice-versa?
For me sometimes it doesn't matter, but other times I lose control of the shot and it goes out...

I've always noticed this, but never commented about it...it'd be super if there was some adjustment or "tweak" that Manu could make to fix this...

S.Williamz, when u play with 100ms lag, it means all controls happen with a 100ms delay. You begin to move with a delay of 100ms ; this u can easily visually check it's true ; to counter this, I added a lil speed bonus, more high when the lag is high. And you also aim with a 100ms delay, thus before the higher the lag, the more long time u needed to press left/right to send the ball on the line ; now, the timing is the same whatever the lag is.

Togtdyalttai
1- I got the same problem... Actually, u don't do the topspin strike, u do the nadal strike, I guess. And right now, I'm not sure if it's an error in my hands when playing, or something's going wrong in the game engine... :?

2- this is same than before ; but i guess u're destabilized by the antilag speed bonus at start of the run, which changes a bit the time u need to run from left to right. As u run a bit faster, u have to stop to run a bit earlier than before. U should get used to it after a bit more practice...

btaylor,
if u swap from FH to BH (or vice versa), it means u wrongly calculated ur positioning, thus it's normal the game "punishes" u with a lower precision when u strike the ball...

Ok I don't really understand all that, but I maintain the game is different. I like it now though, I think it might be better than before. It is not so server dominant anymore, meaning it's much easier to hit good returns, so there aren't so many easy points for a server. I think that's a good thing. Will just take a while to get used to this, as many of the old tactics used are no longer working.

manutoo, a while back you did an update on the kick serve. While this does in fact look good, it does nothing to trouble backhands, and the update was specifically designed for this purpose and it has effectively done nothing

Image

if you look at where the return point from the kick serve, you can see the ball is waaay above the racquet, and the ball still gets smacked back at 90 mph, which I believe was the problem in the 1st place XD

R.Gasquet, 90mph is the speed of the service, not of the return..!
And now, the precision is really lowered for the backhand on this kind of return, I win a few points in most matches from this...
Also, I think I cannot make it totally realistic without unbalancing the whole game for now... :fear:

Manu hi .... I do not want abslotamentea unavailable to anyone with my contribution, if it simply means that the updates are mainly aimed at increasingly closer to reality, the TOP-SPIN is really an exaggeration, I was practcando with top-spin at different rates and this is outside of reality when over 15% in the world ... I think the player who used more top-spin is RAFAEL NADAL and her top does not exceed this number ... I do not want unavailable No player or yourself MANU ... I'm just bringing the game to become more reality .... saludos

PD: please excuse me for my imperfect English but I speak Spanish, and I have not found a good translator on the internet ... lol

Copy the key file, and paste it into the folder where you installed Tennis Elbow.
