it'll be TE4, and no, it won't be open source... ;)

by TE4 you mean 2014 ? or is it a new name ? :)

Well i don't mean fully open source ofc .. just some more extended modding features via some real scripting language, some .py could be nice.
You know i think i can't be wrong saying the best mods in history came thanks to such features allowing deep customisation :)
I would make the best online beach volley out of it, i swear !!

Elias,
the commercial advantage of such games was not in the code they opened to the Modding community ; for example, taking the Quake series, the advantage was in the 3D Engine whose sources were not available ; the gameplay had nothing really special over the concurrence, so the code wasn't an issue ; here the advantage of TE is the physics, AI & gameplay, so giving free access to all that would be suicidal... :fear:
TE4 1st reference => viewtopic.php?p=130360#p130360 ... :P

Please fix: sometimes, when the ball is still moving after rally has ended, if you hit a strike button, player moves.

Totally agree with unforced errors at the net ,, depending on some player stats, player fitness, how tired is, etc., CPU should hit from time to time some unforced net.
In fact I think should be implemented on Human player too. (Pros ,and therefore everyone, normally hit some low % of unforce net errors, even when not being pushed to hit on the run ,or having the ball 'too close', just hitting a bad time shot)

THIS!!!! I'd love to make my own draws and get the battle raging.

Maybe even set up Football World Cup like tourneys. 8 groups from 32 players.

Can you see the incredibleness in this idea?

What about making some things easier for the modders?
As there are always some problems and individual wishes for some things (e.g. the display of the serve speed and match time) it might be a good idea
to help modders in this matter.

Perhaps it's possible to add a menu in the game where you can change simple things like this one.
You can easily switch them on/off for all courts/all modes etc.
It would be great if there is an ingame option to change the hud for the training mode without minimizing the game.
=> in this option the modder himself should be able to add the hud's that are possible (e.g. you can only add hud's that are part in the mod)
As some of us play world tour mode (as myself) i think it would be an absolutely perfect thing if there would be an option to change the player outfits automatically for every tournament.
I remember there was a way in sams mod (which i use by myself) but forgot. <= if already answered forget this suggestion.

Another aspects i was thinking about are:
A simulated match or "History Match" or whatever.
Example: Choose the 2 opponents and tournament and round and sets and how the sets were.
Like: Federer - Nadal, Wimbledon 2008, Final, 2-2 (or like 6-4, 6/7, 6-4, 6/7...) and then start the match in the 5th set.

Something like a "warmup" mode before matches to make it a bit more real. Like 5 minutes to hit a few forehands/backhands/serves etc. but you can skip this whenever you want.
I dont know if this one goes a bit too far because this is more a simulation than arcade game which i absolutely prefer.

Just a few things that were in my mind.

best regards

About low stamina states (or 0 remaining accels state, slow play), being with fatigue on or off : i think that the game would be more enjoyable in this state if there was only an incremental decrease in wings precision, not touching the power. That would preserve a gameplay wich is still dynamic and still allows for strong shots, though more risky of course. That would be enough imo to end the rallies by a fault anyways, and would at the same time encourage people to risk accels and preserve the chances for a good winner, keeping the original TE gameplay dynamic wich is much more enjoyable and spectacular, just with more aiming sensitivity. I think it would be visually more realistic as well, not seeing such a huge slowdown, wich is like reducing the court dimensions all of a sudden.

An example i thought about, would be something like -2% or -3% incremental precision gimp, for each additional acceleration beyond the limit, until a max of precision = wing power -20% or -30% is reached, and stopping there. Depends from where the precision starts though.. That could be decreasing to such a defined floor value, like 10 additionals accels beyond the limit, whatever the starting precision is, doing a calculation depending the starting power<>precision difference. The floor value may be different depending the control scheme used though (Arcade/Sim/Elite) ofc.
