Hi manutoo.

I wish there was training with the service, and to be able to change the name of the player in career mode marc limon.

You can add it?

Few easy suggestions:

1- when you start a season-career it would be nice to have a "search player" option, to be able to start writing the name in order to narrow down the list. Because its a little annoying to find a player from all that list.
Also i dont know how this really works but you cant pick a player with 60ormore starting rank. or am i wrong on this one?
Anyway if its not possible it sucks, the other day i was trying to pick up brands and he wasnt on the list of available player to begin my season.

2- in the season-career i think there should be an option to simulate a game, right now if i dont feel like playing a first round with a total extranger i have to play at least 1 set and beat him just to get to second round. Sometimes i believe simulating that kind of matches would be perfect.

1. You can pick player with lower rank, however you have to edit one value in one file, can't remember which one.
And you can click on the name at the top of the list, so players would be sorted by names.

2. Well, if STARS wouldn't play "extranger", we wouldn't have Darcis beating Nadal this year, or Kubot beating Paire, so better play a match.

1. its not the same mate. a little search option wouldnt hurt. what if you remember last name but not first name?

2. for me it sucks to play against a nobody unedited player... i probably know their names but when i get to play its nothing like real life.. sam is doing a fantstic job including lots of players into his patch. but for the ones that arent edited yet i just rather simulate that match than playing it.

I think that with some little change this game could be the best ever:
- in real tennis after a ball hits the net the player usually has some time to try to reach the ball and play on the point, not all the net cords are instant winners. in TE, instead, every net-cord is always a winner, the ball lands on the court less than one second after it hits the net, thats not very real. would be great if the net-cord would allow you to play on the point most of times or, at least, sometimes.
- cpu never hits the ball into the net. the only errors they make (forced or unforced) are shots long or wide but they never hit a ball into the net. they only hit the net on some returns of serve or sometimes when you push them out of court but it would be great if, sometimes, they would just miss a shot into the net like unforced error.
- the animations are great for serves, forehands and backhands but they are always the same for every shot. when a player is stretching to reach a ball which is far away from him he should lay down on his knees or, at least, try to streach his body to reach the ball. On TE they just run right and left and hit forehand and backhand but their body should move as well, tennis players dont move only their legs and arms. they stretch, they lay down, they move down the racquet when a ball is lower and things like that. a little more animations would be great.
- same thing for volleys. animations for volleys are very bad, they should be a little bit more realistic.
those changes would make this the ultimate tennis game

True !

By the way Manutoo, is it possible in this game to hit the ball into the net when you're well positioned to hit a strong shot ? I think not ! In real tennis it happens
Well, I can see why it's difficult to implement this feature...your algorithms in that situation is build to hit the ball well since all the factors involved are well spotted: "player's position", "power charge" and "direction"...unfortunatelly you can't take into consideration the "wrist"...I undertand that but here's a possible solution which involves another issue imo:
I always felt that if you take the ball early, the shot is not that effective (with respect to a normal shot on a downhill parabola ball) while it's risky enough. Make the strike more effective and the riskiness involves also hitting the ball into the net

Just my thoughts

+1 to lucian suggestion.

Also manutoo please do something in order to not see players like the Bryan twins playing ausopen and other tournaments (in single competition) =P

And finally let me repeat what i said about simulating in the career-season tour.. if you can pick a player and then have the option to simulate your own results.. this will allow the game to have his own "tournament mode" in the tour.. so you pick a player and any year, and simulate until the tournament you want to play.. your player keeps good ranking beacuse you dont have to skip any tournament through the year.

Hello manutoo,

I just have some little suggestions for next version that i hope you take in count.

- can you please add two new HudInfo with animations that appear when there is a tiebreak or a deuce? this will be very good addition for the scoreboards mods.
- can you try something similar that you made for custom strike sounds but for chair umpire sounds (changing according to the court?) It will be important to add the sounds in differents languages like german or spanish and besides will work in exhibition mode.

Thanks :jap:

I agree totally with the unforced errors in the net, it's the only part of the game that I find unrealistic really - that and not being able to drive volley.

in the next versions it would be great if things like that would not happen anymore. When i hit a lob a lot of times my opponent get the ball back even if it is much higher than his racquet. this is an image of what has happened to me today, i obviously lost the point because i wasn't expecting him to get this ball back. this is the moment when he hit the ball, i don't know how, probably telekinesis lol

Any chances Manutoo, in regard to the next major TE version (2015 or so i guess) to consider providing some real scripting language for modding (.lua , python, whatever) along with an extended acces to the engine, movement, assists, talents etc, why not even ball physics, any tools/formulas being tweakable with real numeric precision wich would help to create fully custom setups for custom projects ?
I mean some sort of SDK / public functions / snippets Lib so we can make code extensions.
