I am watching Simon and Nadal play right now on TV in the Australian Open, and Nadal used this exact tactic against Simon about 15 minutes ago. Nadal served fast and wide, Simon ran and returned it right back to the waiting Nadal, and Nadal nailed it to the opposite corner for a winner. He won't get away with that every time, though.
I have the same problems returning against competent servers online that can hit the corners well. The CPU serving is much easier, even on Incredible-10. The best I can hope for is a deep slice/topspin return down the middle and hope to grind out a rally win, but that's rare vs. anyone good. And I still get aced a lot if I don't read the serve immediately.
I don't know how the top players manage to bagel good players that can serve in the corners... must be great reflexes.
