What's Your Hardware Configuration?

Postby campa100anni » 23 Apr 2014, 14:54

I had to format my pc today and I switched to Windows 7 (I was still using XP) but now my game (in 3d) is not very fluid anymore and that makes it pretty hard for me to play online matches where I have to be always quite fast. The game runs pretty fluid in 2d mode or in 3d with big big zoom but it becomes very shuttering as I try to enlarge the view and set the court a little bit smaller.I think the problem could be that my pc is not good enough to run Windows 7 and so it cant handle Tennis Elbow as it should.
My hardware is:

- AMD Athlon 64, Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21 Ghz
- 2 GB RAM
- Nvidia GEFORCE 6200 LE.

What is your hardware configuration and does your game run quite fluid in 3d mode (every camera angle and zoom)?

I desactivated Vsync from my graphic card panel and the game actually started to be way more fluid but, every 5 or 6 seconds, the screen gets frozen for half a second or so (I think because of the refresh rate, I'm not into these things) and that makes me lose my position or miss the ball barely everytime it happens. I'll try to make some other tests changing some other option in my graphic card panel and see if anything good will come up.

Hello,

the game should run more or less the same on XP & 7.
Be sure to have correctly installed drivers for your GPU.
You can press F9 till the crowd disappears to make the rendering more smooth.
The freezes could come either from another program taking too much resources, or from heating issues. In 1st case, try to turn off everything before launching the game ; in 2nd case, check your PC box for dust & broken/slow fan.

Thanks manu.
My drivers are correctly installed and I tried to play vith every level of detail (from high to very low). I got a few tips from ITST guys so I'll try to "play a little bit more" with my graphic card options and let you know if the problem is solved. Anyway it must be a problem with my configuration or my new OS as it used to work perfectly smooth just a couple of days ago with the old OS. Maybe Windows 7 is consuming too many resources therefore I'll try to follow your suggestions if I won't come to a solution with the previous guys tips. I'll keep you updated ;)

The problem seems to be solved.
I tried to desactivate the VSync in the In-Game menu but I couldn't see any improvement so I started to play a little bit with the other settings until I finally set "Anisotropic Level" from "3" to "Off" and "Textures" from "Auto" to "16". Now the game runs very fluid with every level of detail and crowd, from empty stadium to fully crowded. I tried to reset my Graphic Card options to default and the game still runs OK so, basically, In-game VSync, Anisotropic Level and Textures were the only values to modify, it was not a Graphic Card problem. Thank you ;)

Hum, I guess with 32-bit textures, you didn't have any VRAM left and some flushing was occurring thus the freezes... The anisotropic level should just make the FPS lower, though.
