the difference of speed is worse
defender 100% top: 131km/h
puncher no top: 105km/h, and with 100%: 95-96km/h to 105...always
also the defender is not doing top spin shots but the puncher is doing them :?

3 meters high you say, you do realise thats higher than karlovic is tall, 3 meters could be called a lob

i think you can copy file "Data\Players.WTA.ini" and save it in another folder. whenever you re-install the game, just copy and replace it into the game's folder.

Something seems to be wrong with the stats...when you reach a certain percentage, each percentage more takes 2 points, not one. Like I want to put 5 points to volleys but instead five% takes 10 points.

sub level

Postby Philly » 09 Nov 2008, 01:37

Heyo

Can anyone explain to me the sublevel when you start a new career?

@Algo :
I did a try and the puncher hits accelerations around 120~130 km/h, so its average is slightly slower than the defender. The reason is coz the puncher stands nearer of the baseline, where it's harder to strike the ball powerfully coz of the high rebound.

@jenks10s :
u can follow vaidisova's advice, but when I'll change the Player base, u should re-do your modification. (I might change it often in these times, to put new player outfits)

@R.Gasquet :
For a lob, 3 meters high is a total failure, as it's in the racket of all players taller than 1m80 at its highest point. And in the case of the topspin strike, when reaching the service line, it's even not a high volley anymore.
3 meters = sending the ball at ~3 times the height of the net. It's very very easy to achieve on slow balls, and easy to achieve on powerful topspin ball, as long as u're able to put a good amount of topspin in it.

@S.Williamz :

"Moreover, it needs 2 times more time and experience to train most of your skills between 60% & 89%, and 3 times more time and experience when they are between 90% & 99%."
(I just cowardly added "and experience" :whistle: )

(I just updated the doc to be clearer about this point as well :) )

bug: sometimes, instead of appearing backhand-forehand winner or ace #X, it appear backhand-forehand error or double fault #0...
-the danger zone still not appearing sometimes, now when going to the right side of the court(my backhand)when hit by a right handed player, that or the shot was so cross court that the danger zone didn't appear cuz the court ended lol, i'm using the still camera

Manu, could you make the ball and player brighter when switching ends? It is too dark. This only applies to my character, not CPU player. He is fine. But things get darker for my player and the ball when I go to the far side of the court.
You mentioned a setting about brightness a while ago, however I don't want to change the brightness for when I am in the near court (which is by default) when I start the game. I just want to change the brightness for when I am in the far court.
I also think left/right sensitivity might be too much when near the net. A lot of smashes and groundstrokes go wide when I hardly even push left or right. Normally, when closer to the net, it should be easier to put away such shots. But I find it to be TOO sensitive, which causes a lot of shots to go wide.

what i dont like in v2009 as oposed to v2006 is that the player who is serving no longer bounces the ball, but can serve right away... this gives very little time for the reciever to prepare for the service. in v2006 the server had to bounce the ball at least once before serving. a lot of people use this to their advantage when playing online.

Volley Sensitivity

Postby btaylor » 10 Nov 2008, 07:02

I tend to agree with Brad1981 about the volley sensitivity. Even though I've gotten better at volleying it still seems too difficult to put the volleys away at the higher levels. I enjoy playing at the higher levels because I feel competent enough to deal with master/incredible with the groundstrokes, but at the net they cover WAY TOO much ground TOO fast from side-to-side. You can hit both sidelines and still routinely lose the point! In real tennis, from a geometrical point of view, the closer the volleyer gets to net, the more angles he is able to create thereby causing the opponent to ultimately be out of position or tire out. You should be able to punch the ball firmly when it is above the net, but the CPU puts you under SO much pressure with his speed that the sensitivity makes it too easy to hit the ball out/long with just a tap of your fingers. I mean when I play real tennis and set a point up for what should be an easy put-away volley I rarely miss long or wide, mostly into the net.(I'm surely no pro, but I've been playing tennis a long, long time and I'm very competent at the net) Maybe just a l'il teeny-weeny bit of a tweak could be possible? 8-) p.s. I practice my TE volleying a lot also! :wink:
