Tired with this ... % 1st serve

Postby testo » 16 Apr 2014, 23:34

whatever the skills, i stay between 55 and 70% ....

Manu, could take more in account the diff power/consistency/precision ?

With 84/100/100 i have exactly the same range of % than 100/100/100...

Today on 1 game i did 20-30% 1st serve and ... i lost my serve !

Hello,

in average, it works correctly. But that doesn't prevent to have some sets with very low % of 1st serves in, and some sets with very high % of 1st serves in.

yes but after several tens of attempts, the range is the same with 80/100/100 and 100/100/100 ...not logical

In Realistic Mode (remapping to 30-90%), having +20% (for example 80/100) will give you an average of 76% of 1st serves in. +0% (example 100/100), 70%. Except if you keep an exact tracks of all your serve stats, with manual counting of when you missed your serve coz of wrong aiming, then I doubt you can know for sure the difference between the 2.
Having +20% in precision (compared to power) is usually a waste of points ; at most, go for +10%, but +0% should be more or less ok (depending your style & feelings).

whatever i try (70-80-90-100/100/100) i navigate between 50-65% in major part of the game and sometimes between 70 and 80% (1 x / 10)

it's too much random particularly when you are not a lucky people (like me)

1 time bad, 1 time very bad ... one time bad, 1 time very very bad ....

CPU2 (Incroyable-2) bat. superlooserL : 6/2 - Terre Battue - 0:17'34 (0:36'04) - 2014-04-23 21:10

17 / 32 = 53% 1er service 9 / 24 = 38%

Manutoo, does this apply forehand and backhand as well? cuz if i have +20 in precision compared to power....is it waste? I felt the ball rise is better with more precision. So if i keep just +10 it would be ok? Reply me please. It would help me in setting up my points...its like i get 30 points more for decreasing those extra 10 in precision. Those points are very useful for me.

Manufan,
it's always interesting to have +20% on precision (so in Realistic mode, that gives +33%) on FH & BH if you use the short acceleration & short strike often, as it gives a bonus on them. Also, you get more accurate aiming when you're late on ball. So if you want to get closer of +0%, then you'll have to test to find out what's better for your game style.

Manu, you MUST change the way you manage the % 1st serve, it's definitely not good:

Even if you consider a random part, it happens to often in the same side (lower %)

Is it just me or does your player miss more serves/ hit more unforced errors whenever they play tougher opponents. The errors I can understand by why would I miss more serves? Is my player getting nervous? LOL!
