TE2009 : Beta 2

General discussions about the 3rd edition of Tennis Elbow

Postby Santiago92 » 21 Oct 2008, 02:35

Ok, thanks Togt.
Manu, though I think it is very very hard, is it possible to have this kind of volley (http://www.hablemosdetenis.com/media/9/ ... rcuito.jpg) in the game?

Manutoo,

The connectivity is much more reliable and stable now, for me. I am again able to host a game and swap to another program while I wait for someone to join. I do not think that I had to end the program due to a connection issue at all yesterday.

Thanks!

Double Faults

Postby bbug » 21 Oct 2008, 17:03

I've never seen the CPU double fault yet, and I've been playing it alot!

Would seem more realistic if it did?!

Anyone else notice this?

Since i am awful, at 09, i need the aiming ad danger zone thing, but online it disappears and so if i dont serve clean aces i dont win the game. Are the aiming and danger zone supposed to disappear?

Constant Zoom

Postby solarisaint » 21 Oct 2008, 19:11

The constant zoom would be the pefect camera. If it can zoom in at the net all the time, regardless where the sliding zoom position bar is. Then you've created the perfect zoom camera.

Constant zoom is perfect.
I think dynamic modes allow zoom in to net...

Constant zoom

Postby solarisaint » 21 Oct 2008, 19:29

But it's constant zoom so that would entail that it zooms in at the net as well.

Constant Zoom

Postby solarisaint » 21 Oct 2008, 19:50

Constant zoom with the zoom bar all the way to the left is identical to the still camera. Ive been going back and forth with manutoo about the dynamic camera having more of a tight zoom camera on the players while they serve and recieve, more 3d looking. I think constant zoom with the ability to zoom in at the net, no matter where the zoom scrool bar is. Is the perfect camera, it has everything and more. Maybe we can call it constant zooming! In a nut shell we could have constant zoom the way it is now and have a constant zoom with zooming
to the net. then we dont need the dynamic camera's because we covering all the angles with those two camera's Amen And if it can't be done with the zoom bar all the way to the left , then have it at least 25% from the left.

I dont know why this happens but sometimes when i go near the net and try to do a dropshot on the run ,probably, and the ball gets sliced and goes way out of the court. It literally flies out of the court lol.
This just doesnt happen with me, happens with many people but i think it shouldnt happen.

I like it, at least people will be afraid to do dropshots :D

Solarisaint,

The cameras are very important to you, aren't they? :) You are persistent. I think all of our nudging has made the game better; I hope that Manutoo can continue to bear with us. We are a motley bunch :!: :P

Yeah, the volley whop irritates me, also. At least no one is complaining about the magical angled drop shot that hits the tape, rolls over, and falls quickly but gracefully (and gravely) to a dead stop to the dismay of the opponent: I would hate to lose that tricky shot from my arsenal. :D

Your right CC sometimes I can get a little carried away.
What happens is, the more cameras manutoo makes the more ideas come into my head, I sorry, Ill be grateful with the full dynamic cam the way it is now.
but a zoom smash after he raises his racket wouldn't be bad. Full Dynamic is one hard camera to beat.

Manutoo,

This also applies to TE2006. Sometimes at the end of a match each player will select Chat and communicate; then, at least one player, and sometimes both players, cannot exit the chat. The message in the game is to wait for the point to finish or something like that, but the match has already ended. One player, and maybe both, has to exit the game, unless the other player is able to end the chat, which causes the other player's screen to indicate a lost connection and frees them from the chat window.

The connections have been much better than at any other recent time, for me. One problem that I am having, though, is that when I host a game and swap to another application (but can see the TE2009 screen in the background), the TE2009 screen may not update to indicate that someone wants to join my game until (maybe unless) I reactivate the TE2009 window. I have seen this work much better, and I really am not sure that it is a problem, as I have gotten into the habit of just switching back and forth to check (maybe I happen to be switching back at the instant someone joins). I don't think that this is a problem under Windows XP, and Windows 98 doesn't do great at multi-tasking, but I just mention it because I ~think~ that it has worked a little better before. I'll keep testing it, but this is probably not something worthwhile to work on for you, I imagine. ;)

Thanks!
