CPU doubles partner should stay at baseline if prompted?!

Postby Tene » 17 Jan 2014, 11:30

Well, I just play doubles for fun and I have few ideas on it. The CPU partner is just a dumb fool who does errors on same shots and very predictable player at net. He rushes to net without any proper gameplay. Also sometimes i feel like i don't want him at the net LOL.
Manutoo, are the following possible?:
1.) can u give us extra control options to say "you" or "me" to my CPU and then CPU should run for the ball? Like in real life when doubles players do that all the time.
2.) can u make CPU stand behind at the baseline if we don't want him to come to net?
Just want to see this change because I am a terrific player at net, but my CPU is really bad and it spoils 90% of the rallies by catching my shots at the net.

Hello,

1) when you're standing near the net, would pressing & unpressing the Attack or Defense Lob buttons (by default : B1+B2+down or B2+down) would be ok to tell your partner to leave the ball for you ?

2) maybe press & unpress (ie: before doing any strike) of B1+up could make your partner go to net, B1+down make him go to baseline, B1+nothing free him back..?

Thanks for replying.
Well, I think that needs some testing. I was thinking about "T" formation gameplan. I stay at the net in the middle and my cpu should control the shots at baseline and vice-versa. But as i see, if i move to the centre my cpu moves in opposite direction i.e., it only takes half of the court. Sometimes i feel like my cpu should be behind me covering shots at baseline if i miss anything at net :)
P.S. I want to see CPU track the ball and move accordingly when it is at baseline. But it moves based on my movement(i.e., when i move from left-center-right, it moves right-center-left immediately) and we miss easy shots sometimes because of this.
Small question: Is it possible for CPU to stand in the center of baseline, if i move in different directions at the net?

I don't think anyone is playing doubles like that. It'd be just too easy to pass both of the players with a short crossed strike...
