Tennis Elbow 2013 v1.0c [Mac & Linux]

Postby manutoo » 14 Jan 2014, 08:12

Hello,

Tennis Elbow 2013 Mac & Linux v1.0c are released (Build 106-2014.1.14) :
OSX : https://www.managames.com/download.php?T ... c_fe1c.zip [Permanent direct download link to the latest version]
Linux : https://www.managames.com/download.php?TeLinux_fe1c.zip

/!\ Warning:
- when you update to a newer version, you have to transfer the "Profiles" subfolder from your previous TE2013's directory to the new installation folder to keep your saved games ; do not overwrite your current game folder with the new one, else you'll lose your saved games (they might end in the bin, so still in recoverable state, though).

New Features :
- New Strike Styles : a bunch of animations created by megyaem30, thanks to him !
- World Tour : Rankings & end-game Records updated to end of 2013
- Replay : pressing B1 or B2 during the replay pauses it

Changes :
- Gameplay : run acceleration when starting to run backward slightly lowered, and when starting to run forward very slightly raised
- Gameplay : tiredness from running tuned ; now it's much more tiring to speed up or actively speed down, and much less tiring to passively speed down
- Gameplay : speed conversion removed while running backward (ie: you'll be a bit slower when doing zig-zags & circles while running backward)
- Gameplay : doing a B1+B2 serve on 2nd serve lowers the chance of success by 6%, and doing a B1 one by 4%
- Gameplay : when doing a topsin strike with Consistency above Power, the Consistency value is lowered down to the Power value to determine the ball length (ie: you can't do very long & slow moonballs anymore by having a very low Power and a very high Consistency)
- Gameplay : slice max speed raised by 5km/h ; slice speed is now determined by Consistency instead of Power ; off-centering the ball on slice now significantly lowers its speed
- Gameplay : speed handicap on slice from high Topspin skill halved
- Gameplay : Net-cord very slightly tuned & frequency slightly lowered
- Gameplay : when you change of running direction and your player has to turn his body a lot to go in that new direction, his run acceleration is greatly reduced till his body is in the almost correct direction (this triggers almost only when running in circles and it's barely noticeable but it still makes loses something like 0.05 second which can make a difference in intense rallies)
- Gameplay : body rotation speed slightly lowered
- Gameplay : running speed conversion on rotation slightly lowered
- Gameplay : running acceleration tiredness slightly lowered when already running at high speed
- Gameplay : limited max topspin for topspin strikes getting too long (also called deep counter ; this mainly concerns defenders doing a last instant topspin strike, in such case, the ball trajectory will be a bit flatter than before)
- Gameplay : limited max topspin for topspin strike when the incoming ball is still raising (this will mainly prevent to do full topspin strikes on return of kicked serve)
- World Tour : screen to select end of week qualifications will now pop up when you lose during 1st week of a 2-week tournament (it pops up on its 2nd week)
- World Tour : tournament selection is now done before forced tournament choice, allowing you to select another tournament if you have a bad ranking in Doubles but a good one in Singles (and vice versa)
- World Tour : a bunch of male player outfits fixed by Mac'n'Roll & SpinOliver, plus some 90's male players skills & styles updated by SpinOliver, thanks to them !
- Modding : maximum of courts raised to 512 (instead of 256 ; Davis Cup still can use only the first 256 courts, though)

Bug fixes :
- Gameplay : normal strike with 0 topspin charge was leading to a completely flat strike (ie: 0 spin, instead of a bit of topspin)
- Gameplay : run acceleration in diagonal was a bit too tiring
- Music : on some (most?) 64-bit Windows, the music couldn't be played (you need to install the Demo, not the Patch, to fix that)
- World Tour : fixed a couple of bugs in the tournament selection process that could lead to bypass the need to qualify
- World Tour : crowd density was always maximal for main draw matches, even in low ranked tournaments & early rounds
- World Tour : in some rare case, draw seeds could be wrong, hopefully now it should be fixed
- World Tour : when looking your tournament draw then looking another tournament draw, then looking a player details from that other draw, and then coming back to the other draw, the court was set to your tournament's one, not to the other tournament's one
- World Tour : the message "Your doubles partner went to play in Team Cup" wasn't shown when your partner was called in Singles (with or without Doubles)
- Recording : fixed a few things that could lead to match replay desynchronisation
- Statistics : an out second serve could count for the max service speed
- Replay : setting Grunt volume to 0 could mute other sound fx during the replay
- Profile : switching to one Profile where a Player was using the Keyboard to another one where same Player was using the Gamepad (or vice versa) would not update the controller for that Player
- Controls : ";" key couldn't be saved as a control, so it was unset after each game relaunch
- Menus : switching court (and other things) with keyboard instead of mouse was always setting the info text at bottom of the screen to the 1st possible value
- Modding : command line argument to not load any Mod changed from <None> to #None# (as < is a symbol of input redirection, it couldn't work)

- Changelog of previous versions is here : topic15-14157.php

Hey!
Thanks for the update. I downloaded v1.0c, but when I open it it says that it's only the trial version, even though I bought TE2013 off the app store last year. Would love some help with this really noob question (I am so not tech-savvy at all!! My apologies).

Cheers :)

Jordi,
you'll have to wait for the AppStore version to be updated, which should happen within 10 days.
