Un petit détail qui serait super serait que le filet bouge, ondule lorsque la balle est envoyé dans le filet, un peu comme dans les jeux de foot (fifa/pes).

Why not, but I'd rather like the possibility to argue with the chair umpire as in vintage years.

Gameplay right now is great and I'm sure that it will stay pretty the same in the new version too. The only thing I hope will be improved is the percentage of errors (unforced and forced). Once you get used to the rythim of the game and the mecanics of game is it too easy to play 15-20 shots rallies (or even more if you don't take too many risks). Unforced errors, most of all, should be WAY easier to do, in my opinion. Right now bad positioning only effect acceleration shots but it doesn't have any influence on safe shots or slice shots, which is wrong according to me. We should have the same "positioning rule" even in safe and slice shots and not only in acceleration and risky ones. If you hit the ball with your body instead of the racket the ball should go into the net or out the court anyway, even if you are not taking any risk. That would encrease the number of UNforced errors, which are an essential factor in real tennis. Sometimes players miss a shot without any apparent reason, they just miss it because of wrong positioning or just bad impact of the ball with their strings. I'm sure it would not be easy to work on that but I really hope that dealing with UNforced errors is being on of the things Manutoo is focusing about in his work for the new version.

On a probably related note, I feel it's safer/more effective to camp way behind baseline and hit late than actually taking any initiative, being well positioned at all times and charging your shots.
Hitting late seems to be the best way to hit deep shots.

I absolutely agree with campa100anni btw, and I think I've been saying this for years now, unless it's a graphic issue and it's not really what's happening, any 'body hit' shot should be out.

Every stroke (Forehand, Backhand, Volley, Serve) should have their own "slice" and "topspin" bar where you can increase or decrease a players skill with this kind of stroke. For example, Santoro has great slices but his groundstrokes are not that good in general. You could even add this for every type (Normal, Topspin, Acceleration) of shot.

Federer has a hard and flat acceleration but also a good topspin in his normal or topsin shot for example. Gonzalez has a good slice backhand but not so great backhand in general (same goes for Youhzny). There are a lot of examples in tennis I guess :)

Lately I have really been getting irritated by this in particular. The gameplay mechanics (online at least) heavily favour the player being a pusher, even on grass.

a good improvement will be that of letting the players to chose the sound they want to hear when they are hitting a ball.i mean everyone can record 2 seconds from their favorite player noise and to put it on a folder and to hear it when playing on TE4. it would be great.
also, i agree with the option of putting a chat before starting to play a match.
Between the few players with real doubles skills on this tour..

I have a suggestion but this might be very difficult to achieve:

Perhaps we could have this option to change playing conditions like the weather? Maybe via a randomizer - so one day, we play at Wimbledon - it's hot and sunny and the ball flies faster through the air and off the court. On a different day, it is raining, air is heavy and the Wimbledon roof has to come on - and see how we as players adapt to the conditions

Another thing that's related to the gameplay favouring pushers, is that guessing gives a much, much bigger advantage than it does in real life.

In real life when you're on the defensive, out of position and your opponent has an attackable ball sometimes a guess is the only reasonable chance of getting your racquet to the ball. However, even if you're correct and move the right way, it's still very likely that you won't be balanced well to make a good strike on the ball and/or the shot you face is too heavy and difficult to control even if it's into your hitting zone.

In TE, if you're correct with your 50/50 guess, then you are very likely to be able to make an effective shot, often an acceleration is possible but a B1 shot is almost a guarantee to go in play even if you are very badly positioned (i.e. the ball is at your feet). In fact, these shots with very poor contact points can end up being even more effective because they can go much shorter (like a dropshot) or deeper than usual, and at sharper angles than if you charged and aimed.

Pushing and guessing can really take the fun out of online matches for me and I really hope that the gameplay mechanics/physics of TE4 can help to reduce their effectiveness and promote more attacking, proactive tennis.

I wish one could opt to start a new career, playing at the very highest difficulty levels, meaning that both my own character and my cpu opponents all have very high overall ratings. The relative difficulty in defeating these opponents would be similar to defeating them in the opposite case, where everyone has lower ratings, as is the case now. The difference would be that, while keeping the challenge the same, the level of tennis would simply be higher.

As it is now, I find no enjoyment in playing a career. Instead, I opt to simply play practice sessions with cpu opponents that I´ve created myself, and at level Incredible.

Hey manutoo, may I suggest something.

When this goes live, at the same time, I think you should rehaul whole Online Tournament section, make a new site/forum, that will have better visuals and not so messy draws, but also to be easy to use. Its not hard now i know, but its kind a hidden from the world, make it more inviting and easier to find!

I think that with new visuals and a bit of clarification that you can attract a lot of new players, which ultimately means a lot more ppl buying the game.

These Online Tournaments, have huge potential, because something like this, doesn't exist anywhere else. I know that your main focus are not these tournaments, but game itself, which is fine. However, I do think that you should keep both updated/released at the same time, as It can bring a lot more players playing your brilliant game :D

I still hear from people that love tennis, that they never heard about TE, of course I tell them to try it, most of them do like it :D

To give you example of how much people actually love competing in tenis, there was once mmo tennis manager game, called cybertennis I think, It had huge amount of players playing it, that messed up whole skill system set up in game (1000th and 1st ranked player where of similar strenght), ultimately leading game to fail.

What Im saying there is a huge market open for your game, think about rehauling Online section also, once you've done with core of TE4 :D

Also maybe add, like in in-game menu, for players to check, online tournaments on your site :D
I do remember, meeting people in online matches, playing against them, and when asked why aren't they playing online tournaments, they weren't aware that there are any

Same goes for TEM, there is nothing wrong with it, its brilliant and it's the only game of that genre that exists, but people never heard of it. :(
