And also if there will be a challange add,an overrule by the umpire should be there.İt will make it much more realistic. And also on clay court games ref should go and check the important points,and maybe you can add the bad bouncing on clay courts.

I don't know whether this has been mentioned already but the biggest improvement would be the player movement. This is because at the moment it feels like you don't have full analog movement with the player. It feels like you can only move in directionals if that makes sense. Incorporating animations from Maxou/ ITST Mods would improve animations a lot for people who play the vanilla game. Also as others have mentioned improve leg animations, be able to return lobs that have gone over your head, and the games overall presentation to make it feel more modern!

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but what about a "last point" replay system during the match? It would be a nice feature to instantly re-watch the amazing rally that has just ended, or even just to take a break of a few seconds (to recover from an endless rally) without having to pause the game and break the focus/rythm/momentum.

To make it balanced, I'd propose the following system:
- each player has the option to ask for a replay of the last point by pressing a certain key;
- the opponent must accept the request in order to authorize the replay;
- after player A asked for the replay (regardless of its acceptance), the next replay can only be asked from player B (or players B, C and D in doubles matches);
- the system may also reset every new set;
- players' stamina won't be affected at all;
- I know it can interfere with the hawk-eye system, but it's just a suggestion.

Just wanted to say really good suggestions by everybody. One more thing that annoys the hell out of me is when my controller isn't plugged in, then I plug it in but the game doesn't recognize it unless I close it out and load up everything again. This addition would really be helpful & thanks for reading.

I think it needs to improve the "someone just asked your game info!" message.

How about something like - "A possible challenger awaits you!"

Appreciate the time reading our thoughts on all these things.

A thing that would be amazing in TE4 is the cutscenes in offline World Tour. Short animations when you enter in a court, when the set finishes, when you win or lose the match, talking with the opponent. And would be amazing if we have some animations when you win a tournament, receiving a trophy and taking a official photo.
Another thing I think is important is the option to have a warm-up before the match. Some matches I need to go to warm-up session to see how specific player runs in each court. With these options, we have a more complete experience. More than a trophy is the photo with a trophy.

Like today in TE2013 we have many mods, would be nice if we can mod the size of stadium in 3D courts. Thus, we can make very nice mods with futures and challengers courts, like today we have to 2D courts. I can say that is incredible you play futures and challengers using the 2D courts the community have. Playing a future tournament in a 3D training court would be amazing!!
Best 2015 results:
Title: Shanghai (s), Halle (s), Stuttgart (s), São Paulo (s)
Final: Sofia (s), Rio de Janeiro (s), Washington (s)

Re: Previsional "Tennis Elbow 4" Planning

Postby obdz » 15 Mar 2017, 16:53

Hi manutoo,

The 2013 version is amazing. And you've done an excellent work so far. The game play, the world tour are all amazing.

For me, I like everything about the game and I tend to change outfits in this game.
Thus, I have one or two suggestions for this version or the next.

1) Adding the ability to name a shirt, hat, shoes, shorts... etc. For example: Naming a shirt "Federer Australian Open 16."
2) Adding the ability to put outfits in folders and sub-folders. For Example: Shirt > Federer > Australian Open 16.

I suggest this idea because after having a lot of outfits that exceed 500 it becomes harder and tiring to search for a specific outfit. And it also helps the clueless players to find desired outfit.

Thank you.

Some key areas for improvement for me:
1) forced errors
At the moment, it seems it's either a winner or an unforced error. In real life I think, players are more often than not forced into making errors. For example, an inside out forehand cross court stretching opponent far off the court, forcing them to net the ball.
2) better sense of fatigue as the match progresses
This is where different styles would really matter in terms of game play, as a Nadal style would be able to force opponents into errors through great defense and countering, outlasting them with consistency and fitness, and a Federer style would be trying to end the point as quickly as possible, wrong footing opponents with crazy angles. I think stats should degrade over the course of a match, how much they degrade being down to their fitness, the length of the rallies, and the length of the match.
3) change hit winner system
At the moment, I can easily, with little risk, pull off crazy angles, but opponents tend to get them back more than they would in real life. Winners should be harder to pull off as they should be risky, but when pulled off, the chance of being a winner should be a higher. For example, Nadal, in his prime, had a monster forehand, but often played it safely, either forcing an opponent into errors or waiting for them to make an error, meaning less winners but also few errors. Federer, on the other hand, prefers to go for it more, risk more, meaning more winners but also more errors.
4) body serve
The body serve is a great weapon in real tennis, particularly on key points in a match. It doesn't seem to work though in this game.
5) wrong footing an opponent
I think more stats for movement would be great. From point A to B, Nadal seems to run faster than Djokovic, but Djokovic can change direction more quickly. It's easier to wrong foot a player like Raonic than Djokovic, and I think there should be a stat for it in the game.
6) slice needs to have it's own stats
The slice is a very important weapon in tennis. Different styles use the slice differently though. Nadal uses his slice to slow the point to get back into a rally, employing a fair amount of backspin, making it hard for his opponent to smash winners. Federer, on the other hand, uses his slice more aggressively. It should play more of a role in the next game I think.
7) nerves
Nerves play a huge roles in tennis. What about making it into a stat? For example, the nerves stat could enhance or even hurt a player's ability to play at key points, such as at 15-40 at 4-5 in a set. A great example would be Nadal, who (in his prime) would often win the same amount of points as his opponent but would win a higher percentage of the important ones. Players like Nadal play better under pressure (at least he used to). A stat that reflects this would be great.
8) more stats for forehand, etc.
For example, backhand cross court stat and backhand down the line stat separate. Djokovic's backhand down the line, for example, is noticeably better than his backhand cross court, and Nadal's backhand cross court is excellent but he seems to struggle to hit it down the line with the same kind of accuracy. Such stats would make matches play out more realistically I think.
9) spin should affect game play more
Stats for topspin and backspin separate, and should also be separate for each wing (forehand and backhand). More backspin means it is harder for players with less spin to effectively strike the ball. More topspin equals more consistency and also puts ball out of strike zone, forcing players to risk more by moving closer to the baseline or play the ball far behind the baseline. Less topspin results in more errors but puts opponent under more pressure, as the ball is travelling faster and moves through the court more, but also makes it easier to counter. I think this would further play into the different court surfaces as well, making some styles more noticeably better on certain surfaces.
10) court depth of shots
This stat would affect how easy it is for a player to get the ball deep in the court. A player like Djokovic would be high in this stat, but a player like Nadal wouldn't be. This stat I think should be given to forehand and backhand separately.
11) more shot options
I think you should be able to add power to any of the shots (topspin, flat, slice), giving greater variety to the game play. Using power button with slice, for example, could make it an aggressive slice. Adding power option to both flat and topspin shots would make points play out more realistically I think. For example, Nadal usually plays it safe (normal topspin), but will use power topspin when he wants to get into a good position and sometimes finishes with a flatter power shot.
12) more shot animation options/stats
For example, the stroke a player uses on the run doesn't look the same as one they play when they already in position. This could be a separate stat as well, as in some players can play better shots than others when not in position. Del Potro's forehand is better, for example, than any on earth when he's in position, but Nadal has a better running forehand.
13) AI personality options for players
Think games like Fight Night Champion. It would be great to have sliders that alter how a player plays when not controlled by a human. Players tend to have specific strategies, and it would be great to have this reflected in the next game. For example, Nadal hits his forehand almost always cross court to his opponents backhand and only goes down the line later in the rally or when the court opens up. Sliders could also determine things like how a player behaves when down in a set or when they are ahead.
14) serve should matter more
The serve matters in the game, which is more than I can say for pretty much any other tennis game I've played. However, I don't feel I have the advantage I should have when serving in the game. Serve return should be a seporate stat. Player's like Djokovic are a servers nightmare, but for the most part, big serves equal poor or no returns. There should be a serve spin stat I think too, the spin affecting how easy it is to return the ball, much like the speed.
15) movement animations

These are all the key ones I can think of right now that would majorly improve the game. I think these are more important than graphics and adding non game play elements. Of course, if none of these see daylight in the new game, I'll still buy it :). It's an awesome game as it is, so any improvements would make it a must by!

I can't remember if it was this thread (I haven't got my glasses on, apologies for repeating) or another thread but Modding is something which makes Tennis Elbow special, the modders can add their touch to the game which has proven to be popular, TE2013 was already awesome but those Modders made the game authentic in regards of animations, ATP/WTA seasons, player looks ect.

Longevity of career, which has been mentioned.

I think TE has a great formula to it which it doesn't much changing. OP/creator I hope the franchise continues to get popular, I'm on a Tennis forum I asked about this game last year and look at the thread now, all positive feedback. :applause:

I think I should have a virtual reality mode

The virtual reality mode could be a post-game add-on

Some play changes would like to see:

Less time ball bouncing - some time they ball bounce 8,9,10 times. No more than 4.

Computer too good on overheads. Computer like 99.99% me 0.02%

Make serve/volley difficult increase same as baseliner. Too hard to play when easy beat baseliner.

Specific shot practice when in practice.

Slice not good enough.

Computer has many 95/105 2nd serve ace on add court. Not real.

Computer has many good returns for winners off good serves that hit the line.

IceBunDemon, what you think about "win skill" (I mean if you put 100 points on that skill you will have 100% chances for win in the match)?
