Postby iopzzza » 14 Aug 2015, 22:26

Guess who's back :D. Its been a long since my last post , but here i continue my career. Ive started US OPEN (master 2 difficulty). I had tough draw as i've said.
1R vs J.Levine - Routine match really , he played well , but not well enough. I took my chances and i've won 6/3 6/3 6/2 . Here i must say i had THE INCREDIBLE LUCK.
Federer seeded 4th (possible SF with me) retired against LU :D. NADAL seeded 6 (possible QF with me) retired also against ANZARI. That was incredible, my path was already cleared :D. Djoko , Del potro , murray , wawrinka were all downside.
Anyway 2R vs Montanes - no so tough spaniard , easyer match than this vs levine 6/0 6/2 6/1.
3R vs MONACO - bloody damned Monaco. He started on fire broking in my first game and leading up then 3/0. I had zero chances until the end of the set and he won 6/3 .
In the second set i raged , concentrated more and the result came. I was 2 points away from bagelling him , but eventually he won that 1 game and lost 1/6.
Third set was epic , the most epic of all. We started with routine games 2/2. Then he broke me for 3/2 and did 4/2 afterwards. 4/3. 5/3 . 5/4. And he was serving for 6/4 , but i SOMEHOW managed to stay in the set , he led me 40/15 but i've saved both SP points and eventually broke him. We went on tiebreak where i overpowered him . He won 3 points only. This set was crucial beacuse i've lost the 4th set in a bad fashion and if i didnt do the comeback in the third i would have been defeated. In the third set he broke once for 6/4. So 3/6 6/1 7/6 4/6 for now. In the 5th set we both played good , no breaks at all and everything was coming to a tiebreak... but his level droped in his last game for serve for 6/6. I wnet 40/15 on his serve and closed the match on the second MP . Phew 3/6 6/1 7/6 4/6 7/5.
4R vs Almagro - I've expected tough match , but it was the UE Almagro on court not. GOATagro , he fought only in the first set , but i've wont 6/3. Then easy 6/2 6/3.
QF vs Dolgopolov - Oh boy , another Monaco already. First set , not breaks , massive serving and only one break in the TIEBREAK for me 7/6 (5). Second set awful playing by me 2-6 dont want to discuss it. The third set was a concentrated one for me i just did my job nothing more. I wasnt trying net too much , just when necessery. Won 6-3 with one break. I thought he will fight more , because he played amazing for 3 sets , but his level dropped in the 4th set and i broke twice and close the match 7/6 3/6 6/3 6/2. Again i had incredible luck , the another QF was Berdych - Garner (reminder , garner pushed me to 5 sets at wimby LAST YEAR 2014 , when i was with better stats and he wasnt that good) Berdych won in 5. On the down side Del Potro - Djoko , Raonic - Nishikori. I wasnt afraid of raonic , but DJoko on master 2 i've never played , del potro also and nishikori can beat me even on pro 10 i think i was incredibly lucky last time on clay :D to beat him 7-6 in third set with 2 net points.
The SF were Me - Berdych (:D) Del Po - Nishikori . As it was expected berdych played good , but for 1 set only which i won 7-5 , i just waited his serve to stop going in and that was all. 7-2 6-2 6-4. Well in the final... the better opponent i think - Del Potro. He is a bit slower than nishikori. I can make some winners :d . I am glad that is not Nishikori.
F - Del potro led the first set , played better 6-3 , i returned with the same in the second 6-2 so... 3/6 6/2 . In the third i played even better and his level also dropped i won 6/1. The 4th set was a battle like the first , but i won 6/4 and its 3RD GS TITLE FOR ME THIS YEAR . 3/6 6/2 6/1 6/4. Fantastic year.
My next tournament is Tokyo atp 500. 1R against nobody 6/0 6/0. 2R Started bad against Benneteau , he led 5;3 and served for 6/3 , but i saved 2 sp and managed to get things back on track . Won all of the games after that and closed the first set 7/5. He is +1.5 form of the day , so that i can expect next year :D on master 3.

Hi guys, I'm back and I've just completed a fantastic year for me - 2009! :D

I started the year in typically strong fashion winning my 5th consecutive Sydney Open title, defeating Andy Murray 6-3, 6-1 in the Final. I then followed that up with another amazing 2009 Australian Open run, but it was tougher than last year. I breezed through my first 3 rounds, needed 4 sets to be Berdych in R16 (6-3, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2), destroyed David Ferrer 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 in the Quarter Finals and swept past Andy Roddick 6-3, 7-5, 7-5 to reach the Final! I won my 5th CONSECUTIVE Australian Open Title (2005-09), defeating Rafael Nadal in a 5-set final, 6-7, 6-4, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2! :)

I went on to take the Dubai Title, beating Xavier Malisse 6-1, 7-6 in the final (quite a weak field!). I then lost to Nadal in the Indian Wells SF 4-6, 3-6 (and he went on to win the title). In 2009 Miami, I reached the semi-final, needing to save 2 match point before defeating Murray 3-6, 7-6, 7-5 and then defeated Djokovic 7-6, 6-2 in the Final :)
On to the clay season, where I romped to the Monte Carlo title, winning 6-3, 6-0 against Verdasco in the final (Nadal got knocked out by Verdasco in SF), then I reached the Madrid final without losing a set. However, my streak at Madrid was snapped when Federer beat me 6-4, 6-4 in 2:05 hours. On to Rome, where I won another Masters Title with ease, but all the top players got upset early.
I entered the French Open with only 2 losses for the year, breezed through my opening rounds, but got stopped short by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 5-7 in the QFs. This was a surprising loss, but I only had myself to blame - I was 5-2 up in the 3rd set.

On to the grass, where I won the 2009 AEGON championships in Queen's club, beating F Lopez in the final 7-6, 6-0! 2009 Wimbledon started very well as I lost only 10 games in my first 3 matches :) I breezed into the SFs, where I defeated Andy Murray 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to make another Wimbledon Final. In the final, I played Federer and broke him in the opening game of the match. I applied pressure at the right time and took the set 6-4. He struck back in the second set, but I held on to win a 3rd set tiebreak before prevailing in 4 sets 6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 in 3:13 hours - I won my 1st EVER Wimbledon Title! :D

Summer hard court season: I won Montreal 2009 and reached the Cincinnati QFs before losing to Mardy Fish 3-6, 3-6 in a surprising loss. I then reached the SFs of the 2009 US Open but lost out to an on-fire JM Del Potro, losing 2-6, 7-6, 3-6, 4-6. Del Potro then lost to Federer in the final, but I had still won 2 Slams for the year and was World Number 1 :D
I then played and reached the 2009 Shanghai SFs, losing to Davydenko, before winning 2009 Paris Masters, beating Nalbandian 6-4, 6-0 in the Final. At the 2009 ATP WTF (Year End), I defeated Nadal (6-2, 7-5), Djokovic (3-6, 6-3, 6-1) and Del Potro (7-6, 7-6) in the Round Robin. Then I beat Murray (6-4, 6-3) in the SF before losing again to Daydenko (5-7, 6-1, 3-6) in the Final.

I finish the year ranked No. 1, with an 80-5 Win/Loss record and currently have 9 Grand Slam Titles (5 AO, 2 French, 1 Wimbledon, 1 US) :D
Australian Open - 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
Roland Garros - 2005, 2006
Wimbledon - 2009
US Open - 2008

I am continuing ... Tokyo 2015 , benneteau 7/5 6/4 - tough match , he almost won the first set. Giraldo 6/3 6/4 no problems really , lacko 6/3 6/3 again no problems. At the final BERDYCH :D 6/3 6/1 enough said. Then i played shangai. It was a fast run 've won it . The hardest match was against Federer. 6/3 5/7 6/2 in sthe semis . In the final i've beat murray. After this tourney i didtn changed difficulty , but i've changed FORM OF THE DAY. I set it on 0 = from mental stats and things got harder. In paris i've lost in 2nd round vs Mathieu , who stopped my 50+ matches winning streak since Rome and in London i was in the gorup with fed and nadal :( who both beat me and i lost in the groups. Starting my 4th season - Master 2 still , but i changed my forehnad style cause with federer forehand i was making too much unrealistic shots and winners. Nadal style is the style i like better i play with his forehand and now things are better in terms for the CPU. In 2016 my first tourney was in Sydney where i lost in the FINAL . 6/3 7/6 against Tomic in 2n round - tough match. 7/6 3/6 6/4 against simon , again he almost beat me. 6/4 5/7 6/1 vs djokovic in another 3 set thriller and 2/6 6/7 lose to federer. AO - 6/3 6/1 6/1 Berankis . 6/0 6/2 6/0 Gunneswaran. 6/4 4/6 7/6 6/4 SIsling (tough match). 6/3 4/6 7/6 4/6 9/7 AGAINST Granollers - he was serving for 6/4 in the 5-th set but choked. Now playing vs cilic in the QF.

Here i continue my AUSIE OPEN tourney - In the QF against cilic thre wasnt a fight 6/4 6/4 6/4 with one break in the 3 sets and iw as through the SF. In the sf vs Murray i've expected better match but i've won 6/4 7/6 6/2 and went on to the final. In the final i've played del potro , i had luck again because in what was 5-th major tourney in a row i didnt faced fed ,d joko , nadal , the only one's who can beat me, i've wont 6/0 6/3 4/6 6/3 and clinched CAREER GRAND SLAM , 4-1 in SLAM FINALS and advancing to master 3. After AO i played ROterdam where i beat melzer in 1st round 6/3 7/5 , SOusa 6/4 7/6, C.Garner (the wonderkid) 6/4 6/4 , Sisling 7/5 2/6 6/4 and i've lost in the final to del potro 6/7 4/6. Now i am in Buenos Aires atp 250 (i planning to cut these atp 250 , to 2-3 per season). Its very winnable , 1st round velotti 6/1 6/2 , 2nd round Dancevic 6/3/ 6/2 , QF Nieminen 4/6 7/5 6/2 (he is a fighter though) , 7/6 6/4 against Zemlja in the SF and now leading 4/0 Giraldo in the FInal :D

Ok guys , almost half and year since my last update :D i've decided to play some more :) 2016 year - After AO which i've won , i went on playing Roterdam, where i had tough matches all the way to the final Melzer,SOusa,Garner,Sisling , 3 out of 4 matches went out to 3 sets. In the final i've lost to del potro who played amazing i lost 6/7 0/1 retire.
After that i went to clay tournament BUenos Aires , Vellotti in 1st round easy 6-2 6-2, Dancevic the same in 2nd , At QF ive played Nieminen 4/6 7/5 6/2 he led me in the second set and served for the match , but i managed to turn things arround. The SF and the Final were easy , zemlja and giraldo both in straights. My next tournament was indian wells , where i beat Baker in 2nd round 6/2 7/6, Dodig 7/6 6/1, Beneeteau 6/3 6/0, Sisling 6/3 4/6 7/6(8) tough one , Murray 6/3 6/4, and lost in the final to Del Potro 3/6 3/6. In Miami i played worse , 2nd round very bad playing 6/4 4/6 7/5 against Haase , almost lost. 7/6 6/3 against USA wonderkid Garner, 7/6 6/4 against Cilic and lost Djokovic 1/6 6/3 4/6 in QF. I didnt waste any time more and went on to clay courts which are my best courts. In monte carlo i've started in 2nd round against Anderson 6/4 7/5 , just to lose to Tomic 2/6 2/6 (he was unbeliavable). I dont wanna comment the next tournaments they were disgrace , lost in 2nd ounrd in Barcelona to Belluci 4/6 5/7.
In Oeiras i had easy first two rounds , but lost in SF to Garner 3/6 3/6. Madrid and especially Rome werent bad though. In Madrid i've started by beating B.Kim , 4/6 7/6 6/4, then i've battled monfils almost 1 and a half hour (real time :D) 6/7 6/3 6/3. IN QF i played Wawrinka and lost first set 0/6 the regrouped and we had a tough second, but i managed to broke 6/4 and eventually to win the third also 6/3. In SF i lost , despite winning the first set against djokovic 6/3 4/6 5/7. Nadal won the tournament.
In Rome i beat Pospisil 6/4 6/4 , Cilic 5/7 6/2 7/6 , Berdych 6/4 6/2 and Federer 4/6 7/6 6/4 to lose in the ifnal to Nadal 2/6 4/6. The clay season for me finished with Roland Garros and what a tournament this was... i was deffending title , beat D.young 6/4 6/4 6/3, i dont know how but i beat bagdhatis 1/6 6/3 3/6 6/1 6/2 in 2nd ROund , 6/4 6/4 6/0 against Ruffin. 7/6 6/4 6/4 against Cilic , Same result against Tsonga , 7/5 6/4 6/0 against Murray and the final was epic... i lost the first 2 sets very quick 3/6 4/6 , but i refused to give up 7/6(4) and 6/4 in the next 2 sets and we went all the way with Del Potro (yet again :D) 5th set was teste of nerves where i somehow managed to win 13/11 so , 3/6 4/6 7/6 6/4 13/11 played this match 2 days :D. Saved 5 Match points. My 5th GS title. That is it for now , more to come soon :D Hope you enjoy it :)

I am playing as Simona Halep. I started in 2011 as world No. 107 and by the 35th week I was No.1 8-) . At first I was playing Club 5, then I switched to Pro 5 because it was ridiculously easy. The only match I lost in my career was when I accidentally gave up on a match  . I know I should probably play Master 10, but I love being a dominator  .

Postby danispadi » 06 Jul 2016, 12:03

Briochii, yes it's fun, but sometimes batlling for the win is even more exciting :D

So, I will start now with my WTA Career (BTW I play both on Master 5, elite controls, no auto positioning, starting no.30 or so; WTA starting in 2011, ATP in 2005)...
I was unsure about playing a tournament before the Australian Open, so I decided to go directly to Melbourne for the 1st slam of my career. I was the 30th seeded (No.33 in the world - the three that didn't play were Serena, Zheng Jie and Justine Henin, who retired but is still in the rankings), and this was my ipothetic path for the 1st week: R1 Sophie Ferguson, R2 Carla Suarez Navarro, R3 Schiavone, R4 Kanepi/Sharapova. So, first match of the year against no.107 Ferguson, who was playing on her home soil; I started off really badly, I was nervous and couldn't play as I wanted to. She went up 4-0, hitting winners left right and centre; the whole crowd was screaming and cheering her. Somehow I managed to save 2 BPs in the 5th game and I won 4 consecutive points. Then the match changed: I started to be more patient and she was feeling the pressure of winning agains a top35 player in her home slam. I broke her twice and tied up at 4-4, before winning the next 2 games and the whole set, 6-4; I was on the moon, she didn't have any answers to my game, and I went up immediately 3-0 in the second; then she won a couple of games (stopping my 9-games streak) but i finished the job in less then 1:30h, winning 6-4 6-2.
Into R2 I was very confident but also aware that CSN is a very good player (only no.69 at the time) and was in a very good shape (she had already played 8 matches, winning 6 of them). The first set was really close, she went up 2-0 but I came back at 2-2, then we both served well and didn't concede any break point till 4-3 to her, when she had 2 consecutive BPs; luckily she missed an easy forehand on the second one and I kept my serve, but so did she in the next game. We went to a tiebreak, the best way to end that set; she started well going up **3-0, but I managed to come back and win the whole thing 7-6(5). At that time I was hoping that she was going to play less aggressively giving me more chances, but it wasn't to be: she went up 2-0, then 4-2 and breaking me again to close the set 6-2. The final set was nerve-wracking; whe both kept the serve until 4-3 in my favour, where I had my first BP of the set. unfortunately I missed a forehand which would have been a winner, and that destroyed me: she kept the serve, broke me and closed the match 6-7(5) 6-2 6-4. I also played doubles with Iveta Benesova, winning in R1 6-3 6-2 against Rodionova/O'Brien before retiring down 5-0 in R2 against Wickmayer/Rodina.
All things considered, I was happy with my first slam, winning a round and fighting with CSN in a thrilling match. The semifinals of the Australian Open were Li Na (no.12, who defeated no.1 Wozniacki in the 1/4s) vs Lisicki (no. 109  ) and Sharapova (no.20) vs Kvitova (no.24); Surprisingly the two winners were Lisicki (6-3 6-2) and Kvitova (7-6(2) 6-4). The final was very intense, but in the end was PETRA KVITOVA who won the 1st slam of the year, beating the german 6-4 4-6 6-3.
Next tournament will be Doha (no Paris GDF or Dubai as I initially thought), then probably Indian Wells and Miami.

EDIT: and OBVIOUSLY, whenever I enjoy a career mode, something goes wrong... I am playing a match and the game freezes every time that match finishes (I tried lots of times), and I think the save is corrupted... I've asked the modder if he has a solution, we will see...

This is motive Tennis Elbow is the most enjoyable tennis game actually. We can choose the level of game and how we play the game.
I like to go my career mode more slow. Actually I am in my third season, and I began my career as world nº 1000 and I spent almost a year to win my first tournament, a future. I finished my first season as world nº 259, with two singles future titles and a double future title.
My second season I finally won my first challenger tournament, with an epic final against Ricardo Melo in Rio de Janeiro Challenger. I only played challenger tournaments until Wimbledon, when I had ranking to directly enter in draw. I lost in three straight sets to Jurgen Melzer (3/6 3/6 1/6) in first round, but is was fantastic! I played some tournaments later and got my first ATP win in Washington: 3/6 7/6(2) 6/4 against Jesse Levine. In US Open I got my first grand slam win and fell in four sets against David Ferrer (2/6 6/2 3/6 5/7) in the second round. I played some tournaments until the end of year and finished at nº 59.
My third season is being very better, with more consistent results: my first ATP finals (Sofia and Rio de Janeiro) and my very first ATP title (São Paulo) and excellent results in Masters 1000, reaching quarter-finals in Indian Wells and Monte-Carlo and get at least a win in each other Masters 1000. Actually I am playing Roland Garros with the ranking nº 18 and I already reach the 3rd round in a grand slam, my better result ever!!!

It's very funny to grow in ranking enjoying each match, each positive result and learning with each loss. This is the only game I play day after day and I always have a nice something interesting to reach!!
Best 2015 results:
Title: Shanghai (s), Halle (s), Stuttgart (s), São Paulo (s)
Final: Sofia (s), Rio de Janeiro (s), Washington (s)

Re: Write your career results here!

Hi,

Does anyone here play their career as a counter-puncher/defensive player? I've recently started a new one as a "Counter" player with 80% top-spin and 99% speed as I wanted to try something a lot different to my other career mode (varied all-court player with great serve, flat groundstrokes and good volleys) but I'm really struggling due to the fact it seems like power baseliners just seem to have a huge advantage over me, even on clay-courts which I figured would favour my type of player.

It would be one thing if they blew me off the court with winners but I'm actually getting OUT-GRINDED by the power-hitters. They just don't seem to make errors and even when I'm on top in the rally they can slice the ball back into the court and we keep going until I eventually run out of stamina and either hit it out or can't get to a ball. So basically they are beating me the exact way I should be beating them! Add on the fact that they can hit winners despite being pushed back way behind the baseline or off the court and I just feel like I don't have a chance. I thought maybe it was just because I didn't have the stats yet so I exported my player to the training club and beefed up his stats but I STILL couldn't win.

Would love to get some tips from anyone here who has had success with this style.

So, after that thing that destroyed my files (also ATP one) I will start again (once more  ) I will probably start with real players (I was thinking Raonic in ATP and Giorgi in WTA, but not too sure, we'll see). Any suggestions?

Spoobit, I would recommend you to play a lot of short shots with a lot of angulation (like B1+up arrow or B1+B2 + up arrow), in order to move your opponent. I think that's a great tactic for these type of players (I usually play with Errani and this tactic is amazing); but in order to play with this tactic effectively, you need very high consistency and precision in your groundstrokes, like 80%+.

bigu30, nice post! Good luck for your Roland Garros ;)

Hey all!

Decided I'm going to try something a little different and attempt to win Wimbledon 2009 as Andy Roddick playing out all his matches from that tournament. If you remember he lost to Federer in the 5 set epic final so I'll be trying to do one better!

I'll be uploading the match highlights to youtube so here is the Round One match vs Jeremy Chardy. In 2009 Roddick won this match 6-3 7-6(3) 4-6 6-3.

(I'm not too happy with the video quality so I'll try and improve it for next time)

Hey all.

Following on from my previous video (https://youtu.be/2pOPG53DO-Q) here is round 2 of Roddick's Wimbledon 2009 campaign played by me. It's vs Igor Kunitsyn and in 2009 Roddick won this match 6-4 6-2 3-6 6-2.
