So I'm starting my Sophomore Season ranked #37 in singles and #26 in Doubles. My goal for this season in singles is to get into the Top 15 and make the second week of 3 of the grand slams. Also to win 4 titles. I really want to win a TET250,TET500 and a Masters Series title. But I will settle on winning 4 tour level titles. In Doubles looking to get in the top five with my Doubles Partner Jeff Coetzee and win 1 grand slam and make the World Tour Finals in Doubles. I'm looking to win about 4 or 5 tour level tournaments.

First Tournament is Brisbane and entered both SIngles and Doubles.

So I won the 2006 French Open, successfully defending the previous year's title for my 4th GS overall! :D
I edged out Rafa 7-5, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 in the semis - after he led 5-2 in the 4th set, the match lasted 3:30 hrs in simulated match time play. Then I defeated Tommy Robredo 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the final in 2:26 hrs (simulated) - at one stage, he was up a break in the 3rd set but I managed to reel off 4 straight games to take back control.
Now off participating in Wimbledon 2006, where Federer is the 3-time defending champion. Just won the first set 6-1 in my opening match

Question for everyone. Who is the one person that you struggle with the most that's not consider a reasonable good player or even a top 20 player. For example mine is Fabrice Santoro. Met him twice so far each time been three sets and the first two sets been close as well as I been on the brink of losing both. The first time I beat him 6-7)5) 7-6(12) 6-1. This last time I beat him 4-6 6-4 6-1. It's like no matter what I do he seems to be able to counter everything and makes me change my whole game plan. Of course I would expect this from the Top 20 rank players but not so much from him.

Re: Write your career results here!

Postby iopzzza » 18 Feb 2015, 15:53

Hi i am here again , sorry for the delay , had a busy shedule this week. As i said (check page 6) i started my last clay tournament , RG. Had an easy first two matches winning
6-2 6-3 6-1 vs A.Rodriguez-Cervantez and 6/1 6/1 6/2 against M.Rusell. J.Sousa on other hand (in 3rd round) almost suprised me. I've started good withs a 6/3 leading , but second set was tougher. We went on to tiebreak when he the advantage and on one point was leading 5-3 , before i rebroke him to win the set. The third set was even tougher , when he broke my service and almost won the set , but i managed to rebroke him. We went again on tiebreak where i saved 2 set points :D and after that won the tiebreak.
I must admit i had a easy draw. I was seeded 12th and from top 8 the easyer to beat player is Tsonga :D , i got him on the 1/8 finals , and managed to beat him 6-4 6-4 6-4 but it was not easy. All of the sets were the same , breaking him in his last game of serve :D. In the 1/4 finals i got Federer and i though i had some chance .. before 1-6 happened in the first set :D . Then i regrouped my self for the second only to lose by a little margin 5-7 (almost managed to go on tie-break). Third set was one sided as i lost 2-6. After RG I've missed halle and queens and went to Hertogenbosch (weaker players there :) and still atp 250 ). As you may have guessed already i was 1st seed. Got Garanganga :D in 1st round 6-1 6-1. Someone called DUbail in second 6-1 6-0. Swartzman in third 6-2 6-1. Manarino in the semis , that was very tough match , won 6-3 (first set) and he almost made 2 breaks of my serve in the second , he had a 2 break points for going 4-1 in the second , but i managed to hold up my serve and after that regrouped , rebroke him and won 7-5. The Final was also tougher (at least the first 2 sets). It was like the final with Raonic - in 3 sets. I've played vs Mahut and lost the first set 6/7 (serve-volley , yea , but he was too good). Started the second set with one thing in mind .. to beat him adn to win a title on grass (the only surface i havent wont title). Won 6-3 the second set and after that he just wasnt that good and i baggeled him 6-0 in the third. So my third atp 250 title for the season (one clay , one hard , one grass). Now heading on to wimbledon and again i am the most luckyest person :D I am 9th seeded and guess whom i have from the top 8 in my section? Yes its Tsonga again :D. So first round vs J.Blake (he is old now , no worryes) . 2nd round Dodig , 3rd round Berlocq/Stepanek (Stepanek may be tough one :d on grass). 4th round Tsonga/Gulbis. 1/4 final Djokovic/Ferrer and 1/2 final Wawrinka/Raonic or Del Potro. :)

Here I'm again with the big hitter berdych
so the result:
indian wells :
final berdych vs del potro: 4:6 7:5 7:6(7) :applause: del potro was the better player, he won 5 points more than me but who cares

next I went to Miami:
1.round bye
2. round berdych vs Muller 6:2 6:1
3.round berdych vs F. Mayer 0:6 1:6 here I increased the difficulty much because I wanted a hard match but that was really too much

so now I'm playing in Monte carlo:
1.round bye
2. round berdych vsRobredo 6:2 6:2
3. round berdych vs Seppi 7:6(5) 7:6(2)
Im serving not so good on clay and I have problems with the long rallys, is ,monte carlo extremly slow?

Indeed , Monte Carlo is the slowest court on Atp Tour ( atp 250, 500, 1000 ,Grand Slam). Its also the slowest in Sam Megapatch :D its just insane how slow it is , really.

Krish4971, you're on the road for the Grand Slam in 2006 !! Federer seems to be the only one able to stop you ;)

SerenaWilliamsfan, i'd say Dolgopolov, Goffin or Berankis.

Rafa15, yes Monte Carlo is very slow, I think it's the toughest MS1000 to win. In my 2014 season, I've lost to Wawrinka in quarters.

So, just about my season ! Remember, I'd won Wimbledon without dropping a single set. I've managed to win Montreal, destroying Raonic in final 6/2 6/1.
Nadal (obviously :D) had just stopped my 16 matches winning streak in Toronto final 7/6 7/6.
He now leads me 5-0 on the season : 2 GS final, 3 MS 1000 final :(

The US Open has begun, I'd a thrilling match against David Goffin on the 3rd round. By the way, this guy has insane stats, especially 85% in power forehand and backhand !! In the first two sets, he was over the moon, with like 40 W and only 20 UE. I'd a narrow escape : 2/6 5/7 6/3 6/3 6/3
Murray and Federer have been kicked out on 3rd round, Nadal has virtually no competition to reach the final : 1/4 against Cilic, 1/2 against Isner or Anderson...
In my part of the draw, 4th round against Dolgopolov, 1/4 against Wawrinka or Fognini, and Nishikori or Berdych in the 1/2...

ZuutCoke, sadly I lost at Wimbledon :(
I swept through my opening match 6-1, 6-1, 6-0 then beat Julien Benneteau in R2 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. Had a bit of trouble against Gasquet but came through in 4 sets 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. JC Ferrero is probably my toughest match-up outside the top 10, and we clashed in Round 4. I always struggle on grass when my serve is not working, and need 4:10 hours to come through 7-6, 4-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 - I didn't break his serve until the 4th set!
I lost to an in-form Tomas Berdych 3-6, 3-6, 6-7 in the QFs, but Federer went out in the QFs to eventual champion Ancic (LOL), so I regained the World Number 1 ranking anyway :)
Just heading off to Toronto to get in some vital hard court practice before the US Open, my worst Slam so far!

So I've destroyed Dolgopolov in R4 6/1 6/2 6/4, and i'd also no difficulty to beat Fognini in 1/4 : 6/0 6/1 3/6 6/3
The real tournament begins now !
Us Open semi finals : Rafael Nadal vs Kevin Anderson, and Novak Djokovic vs Kei Nishikori :)

For now, we already met 2 times :
Monte Carlo, 3rd round : I won 0/6 6/4 6/4 in one of the best match of the season
Roma, 3rd round : Nishikori won 6/3 7/6, he took his revenge, but I was eager to play Roland Garros lol

The battle for n1 is also on the table : After the French Open, Nadal was like 3600 pts ahead at the Race, but just before the Us Open, it was :
Nadal 9470
Djokovic 8330
Murray 4870
Federer 4340
Wawrinka 4165

I've no doubt that Nadal will be in final in New York, but if i'll succeed to win the title, I'll be 300 points away from him only :)

What a surprise ! Anderson had beaten Nadal in semi final 6/7 4/6 6/3 7/5 7/6 !!
I'd a very tough match against Nishikori, more difficult than the score suggests : 6/4 5/7 6/4 6/3
And a very easy final against the South African 6/1 6/4 6/2

So I've won Wimbledon and Us Open, 2 grand slams in a row.

New ATP race, after the Us Open :
Djokovic 10330
Nadal 10190

and a lot further...
Murray 4870
Wawrinka 4505
Federer 4430

It'll be a big battle until the end of the year :)
I'll play Beijing, MS1000 Shanghai and Paris, and the WTF in London.

3. round berdych vs Volandri 6:4 6:4
quarters berdych vs Almagro 7.6(5) 4:6 4:6 very very bad luck for me

the going to madrid:
1.round berdych vs roger-vasselin 6:3 7:6(4)
2. round berdych vs almagro 3:6 4:6

next stop rom:
1.round bye
2.round berdych vs J. melzer 6:2 6:2
3. round berdych vs Verdasco 6:1 6:0
quarters berdych vs Ferrer 6:1 4:6 1:6

so all in all the clay court season till now was not very well, but the mos important is still RG

My 2006 journey continues then :)
After falling in the Wimbledon QFs, I went to Toronto where I won my first two matches reasonably quickly including beating Berdych 6-3, 6-0. But got off to a very poor start in my QF and lost to Ivan Ljubicic 2-6, 2-6. Then I lost in the first round of Cincinnati to Arnaud Clement 2-6, 2-6, failing to defend my title and dropped by down to World No. 2.
Of course, I play much better in Slams - the gulf between top players and rest is very large, so I destroyed my first 2 opponents in New York. Then won my R3 match 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 against Ramirez Hidalgo before thrashing Gilles Simon 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 in R4. Then faced Nikolay Davydenko, one of my nemeses - with new tactics, I managed to triumph 7-5, 6-1, 6-4 to reach my first US Open Semifinal! Sadly, I then suffered my first ever defeat to Andy Roddick in 4 sets, losing 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 4-6. Roddick made the final against Federer and lost from 2 sets up.

Then I moved on to China Open (Beijing), where I won in 2005. I won my first match against Volandri 6-2, 6-4, losing only 2 points on serve. My 2nd match was against Stepanek and again I won easily 6-2, 6-2. QF came against Marcos Baghdatis, who played very well and broke me in 2nd set, but I prevailed 6-1, 6-4. Then I beat Nikolay Davyenko in the SFs 6-4, 6-3 - I was 0-4 down in 1st set, but then won 9 games in a row to lead 6-4, 3-0! Then I played Nadal in the final and played the best I've ever played, winning 6-1, 6-0 and defending my title. The win also extended my winning streak on synthetic surface to 32 (32-0 overall).

Now, I compete in Shanghai ;)

so, i will play as Andreas Seppi (one of the fairest player in the world) and I start in 2007 from 109th place in singles and 113th place in doubles. I will play doubles only in slams and Masters1000; my first tournament will be Brisbane in singles: the first match will be against a player from Argentina, Giullermo Canas, qualifier number 162 in the ATP Rankings.
Difficult: master 1
Uh, I forgot to say that my stats are very low (for example, my overall points are 893, and Canas' ones are 1633)
Wish me Luck!

P.S. Like another's carreer results, it will be in episodes :D
